A tentative agreement has been reached and information is being presented for City Council approval and to authorize the Mayor to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). BACKGROUND The Ci negotiations team and the Executive Board ofthe Tukwila Firefighters Union IAFF Local No. 2088, opened labor negotiations on S 9, 2013, in an effort to reach an agreement on a successor labor contract. A tentative agreement was reached between the parties on February 14, 2014, which resulted in a three year contract (2014-2016). In alignment with Council initiatives and budget considerations in future years, the Ci and Union negotiated the successor agreernent based upon mutual interest. Some of the changes negotiated were in the areas of: updating ofthe non-discrimination clause to reflect current state and Federal law, clothi allowance administration; incorporation ofthe drug and alcohol testing processes and procedui-es; vacation cash out and additional language regarding light duty assignments. The contract provides for u wage increase nf225% for 2014; 2.0Y6 for 2015; and 2.0% for 2016. RECOMMENDATION The City Council is being asked to authorize the Mayor to si the successor collective bargaining agreement, (2014-2016) between the City and Tukwila Firefighters IAFF Local No. 2088.
