Resolution Creating the "Sign Code Advisory Committee"
DATE:
January 9, 2008
Issue
Providing specifics on how the Sign Code Advisory Committee will be organized and
function.
Background
In 2007, Planning staff provided a briefing to Planning Commission and City Council on
the proposed plan to update the City's sign code. Planning staff had suggested the
creation of a special committee to assist in the update.
The attached resolution creates the "Sign Code Advisory Committee" and provides
specifics on:
· Responsibilities,
· Make-Up,
· Staffing,
· Keeping of the record,
· Meetings; and
· Schedule
The purpose of the Committee is to start the legislative record and provide an opportunity
for debate and issue resolution with affected parties. Upon completion of the
Committee's work staff would finalize a draft code that would be presented to the
Planning Commission and City Council for their review.
