Lisa Vemer has been working diligently on our Tukwila South issues since she
contracted with the City in 2006. We have amended her contract several times, extending
the term of the contract, but have until now not needed to add any dollars. We find now
that her contract, currently set to expire 6/31/08, is running out of funds.
For this reason, and because we anticipate needing Lisa's expertise past the June 31 sl
contract expiration, we are proposing to extend the contract to December 31, 2008 and to
add an amount not to exceed $64,000 to the contract. The original contract was for
$87,000. Her monthly invoices have ranged from a high of $7,800 to a low of $1,470.
As we anticipate her involvement to be at a high level for rest of the year, I used an
amount not to exceed $8,000 a month for 8 months - coming up with the amount of
$64,000. This will likely drive the need for a budget amendment, as we were not
anticipating ongoing negotiations at the time the budget was set.
With the committee's concurrence, I recommend forwarding this contract amendment to
the April 14th Committee of the Whole meeting, and the April 21 sl Regular meeting for
approval.

Amendment to #06-059( d)
That portion of Contract No. AG06-059( c) between the City ofTukwila and Commercial
Development Solutions is amended as follows:
Under Section 2, Compensation and Method ofPavment: Total amount to be paid shall
not exceed $151 ,000 (an addition of $64,000 to the original contract amount of $87,000).
Under Section 4, Duration of Agreement: This Agreement shall be in full force and
effect for a period commencing January 1,2008 and ending December 31,2008 unless
sooner terminated under the provisions hereinafter specified.
All other provisions of the contract shall remain in full force and effect.
