An update was given regarding the needs of the Six-Year Financial Planning Model. Administration presented recommendations for possible revenue increases and optional expenditure reductions. ********************************************************************** Saturday, February 27, 2010 8:44 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Coupeville Conference Room 7:30 p.m. to 8:47 p.m. Coupeville Conference Room PRESENT Elected Officials: Jim Haggerton, Mayor; Dennis Robertson, Council President; Joe Duffie; Joan Hernandez; Staff: Steve Lancaster, Shawn Hunstock and Kimberly Matej COUNCIL DISCUSSION: Welcome and Game Plan Dennis Robertson welcomed everyone to the Retreat and reviewed the process for Council discussions. COUNCIL DISCUSSION: Needs of the Six-Year Financial Planning Model The Council discussed the financial deficits which currently exist in the Six-Year Financial Planning Model. There appears to be two ways to address this deficit, through increasing revenues and/or reducing expenditures. COUNCIL DISCUSSION: Options to Increase Revenues and Reduce Expenditures The Council discussed several opportunities available for future consideration for the City to increase revenues. The Council discussed, reviewed and clarified information they need in order to discuss potential revenue increases and expenditure reductions. COUNCIL DISCUSSION: Next Steps Any recommendations relative to the budget revenue increases and/or expenditure reductions made by Administration will come to straight to Committee of the Whole meetings and not to the Standing Committees.
