Re: Private Party Fire Works Discharge Permit
Issue: I have been contacted by Kayly M. Nguyen, 16456 53` Place South,
requesting a permit for the discharge of firecrackers in conjunction with her wedding on
August 18, 2007 at 9:00 AM.
Background: The City banned fire works under TMC 8.12.010 and only allows public
displays as allowed by TMC 8.12.020.
Discussion: It is Ms. Nguyen's intent to discharge the firecrackers at the end of the
wedding ceremony; this is a symbol of good luck and a prosperous marriage in their
religion. This is allowed pursuant to TMC 8.12.020 (1).
We will provide Ms. Nguyen with a list of safety condiditons once the site inspection has
been completed and prior to issuance of the permit.

Good morning Don,
I'd like to ask for the permit to use firecrackers for a wedding
ceremony at the address below. The ceremony will be at 9am on
Saturday August 18, 2007. The firecrackers would be less than 5
minutes (the string is approximately less than 5000, 1 think).
