Canadian installations must conform to CSA and local codes. Selects location that will permk unobstructed airflow into the corn away from the fan discharge and permit unobstructed service access Into the compressor compartment. Suggested airflow clearances and service dearances are given in Figure 2. Placing and Rigging Rig the unit using either belt or cable slings. The sling eye- let must be placed through the lifting holes In the base rail of the unit. The point where the slings meet the lifting eye- let should be at least 6 feet above the unit. Use spreader bars to prevent excessive pressure on the top of the unit during lifting. Figure 3 shows the unit center of gravity and rigging recommendations. IMPORTANT: The use of "spreader bars" is re- quired when hoisting the unit (prevents damage to sides and top). Top crating can be used as spreader bars. Enter Cooling Capacities table at condenser entering air temperature of 95 F, 2,000 cfm and 67 F ewb. The 48HDT006 unit will provide a total cooling capacity of 58,700 Btuh and a sensible heat capacity of 40,100 Btuh For evaporator air temperature other than 80 F edb, calculate sensible heat capacity correction, as required, using formula in notes following Cooling Capacities table. NOTE: Unit ratings are gross capacities and do not account for fan motor heat. To calculate net capac- ities see section V. III Select unit to meet required heating capacity. From Heating Capacities table read that unit 48HDT006 has output capacity of 92,400 Btuh which is adequate for the given application Performance data ARI CAPACITY RATINGS 48HD,LD /HDD,LDD /HDT,LDT /HH,LH /HHD,LHD Combination Heating /Cooling Units • • IV Determine fan speed and brake horsepower (bhp) requirements at design conditions. Fan switch set at AUTO. position. Upon a call for cooling, contact no. 1 (TC1) in thermo- stat closes, energizing the evaporator fan contactor (IFC), and compressor contactor (C). The compressor and the evaporator and condenser fan motors start and run. On 481-IHD,LHD/HDD,LDD units, upon a second - stage call for cooling, contact no. 2 (TC2) in thermostat closes, energizing compressor no. 2. When room thermostat is satisfied, compressor, con- denser fan motor and evaporator fan motor shut down. Heating — Power and gas on and thermostat set at HEAT and desired temperature. Fan switch set at AUTO. position Induced draft motor is energized with a call for heat from thermostat. When induced draft motor reaches a speed of 2200 rpm the centrifugal switch closes, pilot solenoid energizes and pilot valve opens. A spark is generated and the pilot is lit. When pilot is "proven," the main gas valve opens and gas flows to main burners. Main burners ignite. Automatic changeover — When system selector switch is set at SYSTEM AUTO , unit automatically changes from heating operation to cooling operation when the temperature of the conditioned space rises to cooling lever setting. When temperature of conditioned space falls to heating lever setting, unit automatically changes from cooling operation to heating operation. Thermostat is interlocked so that cooling and heating systems cannot operate at the same time Mr circulation — With power on, thermostat set at SYSTEM OFF and FAN ON, indoor air fan operates continuously for air circulation. When controls are set at SYSTEM HEAT or SYSTEM COOL and FAN ON, heating and cooling operation is provided as required, while indoor air fan motor operates continuously. 48HD,LD /HDD,LDD /HDT,LDT /HH,LH/HHD,LHD Combination Heating /Cooling Units Economizer operation HD,LD only Cooling mode — Upon a call for cooling and outdoor ambient temperature is above the outdoor air thermostat setting, the indoor and outdoor fans and compressor energize The economizer damper moves to vent position. Upon a first -stage call for cooling and outdoor ambient temperature is below the outdoor air thermostat setting, the indoor fan starts and economizer damper goes fully open Compressor remains off. Upon a second -stage call for cooling, compressor is energized and mechanical cooling is integrated with economizer cooling. Mechanical cooling will be locked out when ambient temperature goes below 55 F. Economizer damper modulation occurs when the mixed air temperature goes below the mixed air thermo- stat setting. An economizer control thermostat (ECT) is located on the evaporator coil. Its purpose is to detect an ice build- up and close the outdoor air damper. This raises the air temperature entering the evaporator coil and melts the ice Once melted, the damper is reopened. If a field - supplied night switch is used, the outdoor air damper will close when switch is open Heating mode — Outdoor air damper stays at VENT position while evaporator air fan is operating. If a field - supplied night switch is used, the outdoor air damper will close when switch is open. RECD AUG -2 20U77 PERM"! We has a unresolved issue with the fire alarm contractor on a separate project that is preventing us from completing this project. We need the fire alarm contractor to tie in our duct smoke detectors to their panel. This is all we need to call for a final on this project. Since the panel was installed by and monitored the fire alarm contractor. I am unable to hire a different contract to do this work. This fire alarm contractor is unwilling to work with us until we resolve our issue on the other project. I believe that we are close to a resolution on this issue would greatly appreciate your patience. If such determination is made, the International Codes, Uniform Plumbing/Fuel Gas Code and/or the National Electrical Code does allow the Building Official to approve one extension of time for an additional period not exceeding 180 days. Extension requests must be in writing and provide satisfactory reasons why circumstances beyond the applicants control have prevented action from being taken. In the event you do not call for the above inspection and receive an extension prior to 02/07/2009 , your permit will become null and void and any further work on the project will require a new permit application and associated fees.
