2: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by the Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
3: H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned
in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051)
4: H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be
equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the
air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main return -air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors
shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer's installation instructions. (IMC 606.1, 606.2.1)
5: Local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #2051)
6: Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from a single point near the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #2051)
7: Duct detectors shall send a supervisory signal only upon activation. (City Ordinance #2051)
8: All electrical work and equipment shall conform strictly to the standards of the National Electrical Code. (NFPA 70)
9: This review limited to speculative tenant space only - special fire permits may be necessary depending on detailed
description of intended use.
10: Any overlooked hazardous condition and /or violation of the adopted Fire or Building Codes does not imply approval of
such condition or violation.

Dear Permit Holder:
In reviewing our current records the above noted permit has not received a final inspection by the City of Tukwila Building Division.
Per the International Building Code and/or the International Mechanical Code, every permit issued by the Building Division under the
provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not
commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or
abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
Call the City of Tukwila Inspection Request Line at 206 - 431 -2451 to schedule for the next or final inspection.
This inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since issuance of the permit or•last inspection; or if
the project should be considered abandoned.
If such determination is made, the Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve a one or more extension of time for
additiona perios not exceeding 90 days each. Extension requests must be in writing and provide satisfactory reasons why
circumstances beyond the applicants control have prevented action from being taken.
In the event you do not call for the above inspection and receive an extension prior to 04/18/2006, your permit will become null and
void and any further work on the project will require a new permit and associated fees.

Dear Kevin:
You intend to replace an HVAC unit overthe bathroom areas of a large office building
in Tukwila. The original unit atthis location weighs approximately 10,400 pounds. The
new unit is the same width, but slightly longer than the original unit. There will be
modified enclosure, so as to use the original curb unit. The new unit with the
modifications will weigh approximately 9,600 pounds.
The existing support framing is comprised of triple open web wood trusses under the
sides of the HVAC unit. These were part of the original framing to support the unit.
Since the new unit weighs slightly less than the original unit and will occupy the same
footprint as the original unit, the existing roof framing is adequate to support the new
HVAC unit.
