The existing building has a metal decking with steel bar joists with torch down roofing. The new and exisitng roof top HVAC units each weight about 1800 pounds. The new unit, can be adequately supported by the existing roof framing. The connection of the new HVAC unit curb to the roof framing can be made with #8 self drilling self tapping screws (TEK screws). There should be (6) screws along each edge of the new HVAC unit curb for a total of (24) screws. The screws should be placed into the support framing that supports the curb metal.
