Public Health - Seattle and King County (206/296- 4932).
7: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the Washington State Department
of Labor and Industries (206/248- 6630).
8: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.

COMMENTS: I apologize for not following through with the review memo dated
12/12/04. There are two items on this review letter that need to be addressed.
Item one indicates these six 400,000 BTU unit heaters would exceed what the
Washington State energy code allows. My calculations were as follows: The building is
240,000 square feet x 8 BTU per square foot = 1,920,000 allowable BTU. Each heater
puts out 320,000 BTU x 6 = 1,920,000. It would not be difficult to reduce the size of the
orifice in a few of these heaters if that would help expedite the permit. I have included a
cut sheet for these heaters.
Item two is the System Commissioning for semi heated spaces. I have included a
letter regarding this system.

An initial Building Division plan review has been conducted on the
subject mechanical permit application. Please address the following
comments with revised plans, specifications and /or other applicable
documentation.
The proposed six 400,000 BTU unit heaters, exceed the total allowed
BTU limitations of Washington State Energy Code Section 1310 for a
"Semi- Heated" building. Revised the proposed equipment or
provide Code calculations to show compliance otherwise.
Washington State Energy Code Section 1416.4 requires "System
Commissioning" for semi - heated spaces. Document on a new
revised plan the minimum requirements listed in W.S.E.C. Section
1416.4.2.1 and 1416.4.2.2 for commissioning reports.
