Thermo Products LLC approves the reduction of one size of vent pipe diameter for the vertical component of the vent system when connected to our oil furnace line. This is approved for venting the furnace only when no additional appliances are common vented with the furnace. It is Thermo Products policy to refer to the manufacturer the vent system for proper sizing as to capacity of vent material. In your case, the vent supplier rates the capacity of a 5" vent capacity in excess of the input of an OH3 -72. Thermo Products would approve this installation.
