Roof plan required to identify individual equipment and the location of each installation (Uniform
Mechanical Code 504 (e))
Details and elevations (for roof mounted equipment) and proposed screening
Heat Loss Calculations or Washington State Energy Code Form #H -7
H.V.A.C. over 2,000 CFM (approximately 5 ton and larger) must be provided with smoke detection shut-
off and will be routed to the Fire Prevention division for additional comments (Uniform Mechanical
Code 1009).
Specifications must be provided to show that replacement equipment complies with the efficiency ratings
and other applicable requirements of the Washington State Nonresidential Energy Code.
Structural engineer's analysis is required for new and the replacement of existing roof equipment
weighing 400 pounds and greater (Uniform Building Code 1632.1). Structural documentation shall be
stamped by a Washington State licensed Structural Engineer.

SCOPE OF WORK:
1 Removal and replacement of earthquake damaged fluid cooler.
2. New unit will match existing specifications and weight. Scope as
follows:
3. Prepare existing damaged fluid cooler for removal and transport
down to ground level. Remove existing utility connections as
needed to allow the cooler to be disassembled or lifted to
ground level.
4. Devises and components removed shall remain property of the
Building owner and disposed of in accordance with the Project
Manager The main and pony electric fan motors and the spray
pump and its motor shall be turned over to Boeing Facilities
Services at the building location
5. Procure and Transport the new fluid cooler to a staging area (to
be identified) at 11 -14S and preparing location for installation of
the new cooler. Verify at equipment interfaces are correctly
sized and positioned with the proper hardware available to
make connections.
6. Install the new fluid cooler in the cooling tower room on top of
11 -14 -S . Mount fluid cooler to building structure. Connect
existing piping systems, electrical interfaces and control
systems to the new cooler. Perform Leak test of installed fluid
cooler and piping system back to first upstream and
downstream isolation valves.
7. Perform manufacturers recommended start up and acceptance
tests. Support Boeing Facilities Services in performing laser
alignment of motor and fan drive system.
8. Restoration of jobsite, staging areas, and other areas used to
original condition after completion of each phase of the work
and after completion of the total job
9. Both buildings in this complex are fully occupied. This work shall
be performed in a manner to minimize disruption to the
occupants and expedite restoration of nominal air conditioning
capacity to the 11 -14S tower.

Subject: Building 11 -14S Penthouse Fluid Cooler Replacement,
Boeing Facilities Job Na. 712303 -00
Dear Mr. Dunaway
This letter addresses the building structure supporting the subject fluid cooler.
After the February 28'" earthquake, Building 11 - 14S was thoroughly inspected for damage by
Boeing Facilities Services structural engineers. No structural damage was found in this building. In
addition. I have re-examined the penthouse floor structure that supports the fluid cooler, and have not
found any evidence of earthquake damage.
The replacement fluid cooler is a duplicate of the original, with the same configuration, weight,
center of gravity, and mounting arrangement. Therefore, the job for replacing the fluid cooler will
not include any repair or alteration of the building support sttacture.
Our mechanical engineer, Lee Thomas, and construction administrator, William Printy, will send th
fluid cooler specifications (under separate cover), to provide verification that the replacement
matches the origimal.
