We had two options: (1) Produce a Certificate of Occupancy which was issued by the King County, the jurisdiction which oversaw the construction of these buildings in the 1960's. or; (2) Find absolute proof that in the 1961 Uniform Building Code the contractor and designer of the project could allow non rated material in a return air plenum. We are unable to produce or prove either option. Thus our only recourse is to abide by current 1997 Uniform Building Code and take out ALL non plenum rated material in the plenum. (gage 1 I confirmed our decision with Mr. Bob Benddicto on the phone this afternoon and he informed me that he would talk to his inspectors concerning our decision. King. County, the jurisdiction which oversaw the construction of these buildings in the 1960's. or,, (2) Find absolute proof that in the 1961 Uniform Building Code the contractor and designer of the project could allow non rated material in a return air plenum: We are unable to produce or prove either option.. Thus our only recourse is to abide by current 1997 Uniform Building Code and take out ALL non plenum rated material in the plenum. I confirmed our decision with Mr Bob Benddicto on the phone this afternoon and he informed me that he would talk to his inspectors concerning our decision.
