- Average dust loading with woodworking equipment is 5 grains/cubic foot of air (assuming all
woodworking equipment is in operation)
- Duct velocity is 3,500 FPM
- 11,520 CFM total airflow
Total Sawdust Ter Hour Day;
• 11,520 CFM x 5 grains/7,000 grains per # = 8.22 x 60 min. x 5 hours (assumes 5 hrs. operation
per day) is 2,466# per day /I5# per cu. Ft. = 164.4 cu. ft. per day.
- For this application, we can safely assume a maximum of 33% of the units running at a. given
time. Therefore, 164.4 x .33 a l 54.2 maximum cu. ft. of sawdust per day.
Total C4yttued Sawdust;
• With well designed hoods and woodworking equipment designed for a collector system, we can
assume 98% capture efficiency.
Total Amount of Sawdust Within the Ductwork at a Gives Time:
- Assuming 75 feet of ductwork /3,500 ft. per minute = .0214 minute transport time.
- At 8.22* per minute of sawdust x .02I4 transport time - . 1759# of dust in the ductwork.
Assumc .1 759# of dust in the ductwork with the dust collector capture efficiency of 99.95%
overall efficiency.
• The dust collector has an overall efficiency of 99.95% but 100% efficiency on dust particles
over 10 microns in size. (see attached from Sternvent)
- 1759# x 0.05 = .0087# of dust after the dust collector and prior to the 95% final filter.
- The 95% final Filter is virtually 100% effective on dust 1 micron and above. (See attached
chart —page 3)
- The attached chart (page 2) shows dust particles in the range of 3 microns to 150 microns. If
that were the case, the 95% final filter would capture 100% of the wood dust. However, for this
project, let's assume 5% of the product is below 1 micron.
Assume as Follows:
- .0087# x .0545 .000430 below 1 micron and 0# below .3 micron, therefore, an average

efficiency of 90% may apply.
- .00043 x .1 = .000043# of dust per minute after the final fIter.
- Total airflow - 11,520 C.FDvi = 326.24 cu. meters per minute.
• .000043# of dust = .0195 grams.
- .0195 grams/326.24 cu. meters = .000059 grams/cu. meter.

Totally Rigid, Disposable Air Filter
RIGA -FLO FILTERS are available in a range of
a ltrazion efficiencies to match each application's
needs Although a disposable 5ker. the RIGA -FLO
is completely rigid in conduction, assuring
strut u L and performance integrity throughout
its entire service life. RUGA.PL0 filters arc ideally
suited to variable volume Syste:as. Being totally
rigid, performance is net affected by changes in
air velocity or fan shutdown, and thdr cauCgctira-
don is not altered by accumulation of dirt.
HIGH LOFT MEDIA is laminated to a nonwoven
synthetic backing, which provides positive
support, optimize' dust dust holding capacity, and
precludes fiber emission. as compared to flat glass
at media.
DURABLE AND RELIABLE all :metal contour
stabilizers. diagonal support bracing. galvanized
steel enclosing flame and welded wire me
support grid provide rigidity, durability, consistent
integrity and pesfotmwcc reliability through=
the filter's life. The RIGA -FLO is capable of

withstanding 10" w.g. pressure drop without
noticeable diawrcori of the media pack.
LONG SERVICE LIFE - The lofted media and
Fur's exclusive tapered radial pleats provide a
high dust holding capability, =tending the life of
the filter. As a result, the system will require less
downtime and maiatcnance.
ENERGY CONSERVATION - The RIGA FLO
will operate at air volumes considerably below
rated velocity (500 fprn) and capacity. Initial
resistance is reduced and performance is
iniproved..;a -vice life is cmtmdcd and energy
savings can be sizable.
INSTALLATION EASE - RIGA -FLO filters are well
suited to tither built -up banks or Farr side access
systems. RIGA -FLO filters are available standard
with no header or with 7/8" or 1 1/S" headers.
(See BIGAFLO/PH Bulletin No. A-1306-4-)
RIGA-FLO is adaptable to both competitive and
OEM housings.

Seattle, WA 98124
RE: Permit Application No. M01 -151
Location: Boeing 9 -99
9725 East Marginal Wy S
Dear Permit Holder:
In reviewing our current records the above noted permit has not received a final inspection by the City of
Tukwila Building Division. Per the Uniform Building Code and /or Uniform Mechanical Code, every permit
issued by the Building Official under the provisions of this code shall expire by limitation and become null
and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date
of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time
after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days.
Based on the above, you are hereby advised to:
• Call the City Of Tukwila Permit Center at (206) 431 -3670 to schedule a
progress or a final inspection
A progress inspection is intended to determine if substantial work has been accomplished since issuance of
the permit or last inspection; or if the project should be considered abandoned.
If such determination is made, the Building Code does allow the Building Official to approve a one -time
extension up to 180 days. Extension requests must be in writing and provide satisfactory reasons why
circumstances beyond the applicant's control have prevented action from being taken.
In the event you do not call for the above inspection or request and receive an extension prior to March 24,
2002, your permit will become null and void and any further work on the project will require a new permit and
associated fees.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
gat h,
