Description of Incident
On 04/17/14 at 1649 hours Tukwila Patrol Officers responded to a report of
a multiple vehicle injury collision in the 7000 SW Grady Way. Police and
Fire personnel from Tukwila and Renton responded to the scene. An
eastbound Oldsmobile driven by a single male occupant crossed the
centerline and struck two westbound vehicles. The occupants of the lead
westbound vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported to
Harborview Medical Center. The occupants of the second westbound
vehicle were treated at the scene and released. The adult male driver of
the Oldsmobile was arrested for 2 counts of vehicular assault and
investigation of DUI. SW Grady Way was closed in both directions for 3
hours while officers investigated the crash scene. At this time excessive
speed and driver impairment appear to be contributing factors in this
collision. The collision is currently under investigation by the Tukwila Police
Departments Traffic Unit.
