I was originally sent there to watch installation of anchor bolts, but that had already been completed. Waited to try to see if equipment was available for the pull test. Also got job foreman in touch with our special projects man, Stuart Carter. To the best of our knowledge, items inspected this date are in accordance with approved plans and specifications. As a result of tunnel testing at Underwriters Laboratories (UL 723, ASTM E 84, and NFPA 255 are essentially Identical) an FR -S surface burning characteristic classification has been assigned to all softwood species of Dricon FRT wood, The tunnel test compares surface burning characteristics of tested materials to those of asbestos cement board and untreated red oak lumber. A rating of 0 is assigned to asbestos cement board and a rating of 100 is assigned to untreated red oak flooring. Flamespread ratings of various species of untreated lumber range from 60 to 230. A rating of 25 qualifies for Class 1 /Class A requirements. During this test, smoke emissions are also measured and ratings are assigned on the same scale. These Flamespread and smoke development ratings are established during the first 10 minutes. However, unlike for fire retardant coatings, building codes require that the test be extended from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and the flamespread not progress more than 10 1/2 feet beyond the burners and show no evidence of progressive combustion. Dricon FRT wood has a Flamespread and smoke developed index of 25 or less when tested in the E -84 tunnel test and shows no evidence of progressive combustion in 30 minutes. Dricon treatment reduces the flamespread of most species to less than 15 which is essentially the same as gypsum wallboard, Standard tests for surface burning characteristics of materials referenced in the model codes as a basis of acceptance of fire retardant treated wood are all essentially the same. Wright Construction Co attempted to conduct an EPO test for Washington Mutual Bank at the Sabey Data Center located at 3355 S. 120 place. During the course of the test, one of the Power Modules experienced a failure in a circuit board and the test had to be aborted to prevent loss of technology that was being powered by that particular unit. We have re- scheduled the test to be conducted on Saturday night, May 20, 2006 starting at 11:00 PM. We feel we will be able to complete the test in an 8 hour period barring any more problems with hardware. This work is covered under the Mechanical Permit # M06 -009.
