6: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the Cityof Tukwila
Permit Center.
7: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the Washington State Department
of Labor and Industries (206/248- 6630).
8: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors In the construction documents and other data.

GENERAL NOTES

STANDARDS.
2. CONTRACTOR 15 TO VERIFY ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS, DIMENSIONS, DETAILS, ETC., AND
NOTIFY THE DESIGNER OF ANY AND ALL DISCREPANCIES PRIOR TO FROCEEDIN6 WITH THE
WORK.

GENERAL MECHANICAL SPECIFICATION
SCOPE
THE INTENT OF THE SPECIFICATION AND THE DRAWINGS IS TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE AND
FULLY OPERATIONAL MECHANICAL (HVAC) SYSTEM. THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR
SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL LABOR, MATERIAL, AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO
COMPLETE THE MECHANICAL WORK. DRAWINGS ARE SCHEMATIC IN SOME AREAS AND
MAY NOT SHOW OFFSETS WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED.
STANDARDS
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS SHALL CONFORM WITH APPROPRIATE PROVISIONS OF ARL,
ASME, ASTM, UL, NEMA, ANSO, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, AS APPLICABLE TO EACH
INDIVIDUAL UNIT OR ASSEMBLY.
CODES
ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE
AND LOCAL CODES AND ORDINANCES. IN CASE OF CONFLICT BETWEEN THE
DRAWINGS /SPECIFICATIONS AND THE CODES AND ORDINANCES, THE HIGHEST STANDARD
SHALL APPLY. THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SATISFY CODE REQUIREMENTS AS
A MINIMUM STANDARD WITHOUT ANY EXTRA COST TO THE OWNER.
WARRANTY
THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL UNCONDITIONIALLY WARRANT ALL WORK TO BE
FREE OF DEFECTS IN MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR
FROM THE DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE BY OWNER, AND WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY
DEFECTIVE WORK PROMPTLY AND WITHOUT CHARGE AND SHALL RESTORE ANY OTHER
EXISTING WORK DAMAGED IN THE COURSE OF REPAIRING DEFECTIVE MATERIALS AND
WORKMANSHIP.
LOUVERS
LOUVERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MECHANICAL
CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS NECESSARY FOR A COMPLETE
AND PROPER NSTALLATION IN THE TYPE OF CEILING AND WALLS USED IN THIS PROJECT.
TESTING, ADJUSTING, BALANCING
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ACCURATELY BALANCE THE AIR SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE
AIR QUANTITIED INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND IN THIS SPECIFICATION. OPERATE
AUTOMATIC CONTROLS SYSTEM AND VERIFY SET POINTS DURING BALANCING.
SHEET METAL DUCTWORK
ALL DUCTWORK TO BE RIGID SHEET METAL CONSTRUCTED FROM GALVANIZED SHEET
STEEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH SMACNA LOW VELOCITY DUCT CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS.
ALL EXPOSED DUCTWORK TO BE ROUND, SPIRAL, LOCK SEAM TYPE. ASSEMBLE AND
INSTALL DUCTWORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH RECOGNIZED INDUSTRY PRACTICE FOR
ACHIEVING AIR TIGHT (8% LEAKAGE) AND NOISELESS (NO OBJECTIONABLE NOISE)
SYSTEMS CAPABLE OF PERFORMING EACH INDICATED SERVICE. FURNISH ALL DAMPERS,
TRANSITIONS, CONNECTIONS TO AIR TERMINALS, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES NECESSARY
