Xeefe, R,e Chte Re: H.V.A.C. at Penske Trucking - 12840 48th Avenue South Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required'. (City Ordinance #1742) H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2 000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main supply-air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (UMC 608) 2. .Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #1742) Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. Add 2" (for insulation) to each dimension to obtain outside dimensions. The first number on all duct sizing is the width and the second is the height. Materials within ducts or plenums shall have a flame spread rating less than 25 and a flame smoke development rating less than 50 per UMC. All duct gauges per table 6 -A of the UMC. All duct supports per table 6-E of the UMC. Attach diffusers and grilles to the t -bar grid with clips or screws. Seismic support all ductwork per code. Balancing dampers are to be installed in all supply runs. DUCT INSULATION Insulate or line ductwork per the Washington State Energy Code along with the UMC. GENERAL CONTRACTOR Provide and cut openings for as rooftop, ceiling, floor, and wall penetrations including weatherproof sealing as required. Verify penetration location and dimensions before cutting or framing openings. Provide adequate structural engineering and support as required. Provide adequate service access to mechanical equipment Level roof curbs including insulation, flashing, and cant strips. ELECTRICAL TnT Mechanical will install all low voltage control wiring for the Heating and cooling equipment. Any conduit required is by the Electrical Contractor.
