My analysis indicates that 4ton mechanical units placed in alternate ken would be acceptable. (Seo sketch for unit location), Additional beams would have to be placed under the existing structure to accommodate the new mechanical units. Please note that the existing glued- laminated beams are stressed in bending to their maximum capacity with an assumed additional load due to new bats insulation of 3.1/2 inches thickness, In other words care must be taken not to introduce any additional dead loads onto the framing system other than the new mechanical and the additional bats insulation If you have any question regarding this information please feel free to call.
