Mullet, Mayor Thomas p Keefe, Fire Chief Dear Sir: The attached set of mechanical plane have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #1900) 2. H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2 000 cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power source of the air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke in the main supply -air duct served by such equipment. Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for air-duct installation and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (UMC 608) Dedicated fire alarm system circuit breaker(s) shall be equipped with a mechanical lockout device. (NFPA 72 (1-8.2.8.2)) Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset from the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #1900) 3. All electrical work and equipment shall conform strictly to the standards of The National Electrical Code.
