Abandon existing underfloor ductwork in place. Abandon existing floor grilles and leave in place. At a thrum date, Owner will remove floor grilles, cap -off ductwork, and patch flooring. Typical approximately 17 floor grilles. 2. Existing louvered doors on furnace closet to remain. Owner to repair hinges. 3. Reno.: z existing return ductwork in ceiling cavity above corridor (owner will remove and replace ceiling). 4. Demolish existing split - system fan coil units: a) Reclaim refrigerant from two split systems. Disconnect refrigerant lines from indoor f coils units and keep for reuse. b) Disconnect electrical service to fan coils and keep for reuse. c) Remove two existing down -flow furnaces and related ductwork. d) Cover holes in floor at abandoned supply dnctvork with 18 gauge panels. Secure to floor with "nail -in" pins and caulk water - light. e) Remove old furnaces and duchvork from site. t) Patch (roles in outside walls of furnace closet. 5. Provide nvo new up -flow furnaces. a) Set furnaces on new I" lined return air plenums. b) Cut opening in side of each plenum to draw return air from closet. c) For each furnace, provide an 8 "0 outside air intake complete with backdra damper. Install intakes through outside wall under stairs. d) Provide new discharge plenums with 1" sound liner at furnace. e) Reconnect refrigerant piping, evacuate lines and charge. t) Reconnect electrical wiring. 6. Remove existing return duct(s) above corridor ceiling. Provide two new supply ducts -one for each fan coil system. Connect to lined discharge plenum at respective fan coii. Connect to existing ducts above soffits (see note #7 below) Field coordinate depth to be sure corridor ceiling can be reinstalled 7. Existing 14" x 8" return ducts above soffits to remain and be converted to supply use. Connect to new supply duets above corridor ceiling. Maintain Nonh -South split for A/C unit zoning. 8. Provide new 10" x 6" sheetmetal tap into existing duct. Extend through face of sheetrock soffit. Provide new 10" x 6" double deflection sidewall register with O.B.D. (typical of 12 total). Owner will cut and patch soffit. 9. Provide new 10" x 6" sheemtetal tap into existing duct. Extend through bottom ofsheetrock soffit. Provide new 10" x 6" double deflection sidewall style register with O.B.D. (typical of 6 total). Owner will cut and patch soffit. 10. Provide new 14" x 8" ductwork to extend supply over entry condor (typical 2 places). Provide offsets under beams. Provide two new sidewall registers. Owner will soffit under ductwork at beam as desired. 12. Repairs at roof (not shown on plans): a) Repair damaged insulation un control wiring at heat pump outdoor units, or replace ring. b) Replace damaged insulation on heat pump refrigerant piping. 13. Owner is responsible for all cutting, framing, patching and painting of existing walls and ceilings. 3. Owner is responsible for smoke detectors and fire 'life safety controls if required by City. 1. Owner will remove ceiling in corridor outside furnace closet to allow for installation of new ductwork above corridor ceiling. At completion of mechanical installation, Owner will replace ceiling. I. Project scope is to replace two existing downflow fan coil units with upflow units, and rework the ductwork for overhead supply. Old fan coils had electric resistance backup heat. New fan coils will have electric strip heaters with KW capacities equal to what was existing. 2. Each fan coil has an air flaw of 1,950 CFM. Smoke detectors for automatic shutdown. 3.
