All data has been corrected to represent standard air at a density of .075 ib /ft Actual pressure drop found in any HVAC system is a combination of many factors. This pressure drop information along with an analysis of other system influences should be used to estimate actual pressure losses for a damper installed in a given HVAC system. AMCA Test Figures Figure 5.3 Illustrates a fully ducted damper. This configuration has the lowest pressure drop of the three test configurations because entrance and exit losses are minimized by straight duct runs upstream and downstream of the damper. Figure 5.2 Illustrates a ducted damper exhausting air into an open area. This configuration has a lower pressure drop than Figure 5.5 because entrance losses are minimized by a straight duct run upstream of the damper. Figure 5.5 Illustrates a plenum mounted damper. This configuration has the highest pressure drop because of extremely high entrance and exit losses due to the sudden changes of area in the system. A yi. k a 3 Damper Size 12" x 12" Velocity (torn) O 1 • Figure 5.3 Figure 5.2 Figure 5.5 10 9 9 7 6 5 4 3 2 t.9 .8 .7 .6 .5 .4 .3 .2 :8 .06 .07 .08 .05 .04 .03 .02 5D 513 p Damper Size 24" x 24" BD 5.5 52 5.3 4 6 678910 2 3 4 5 979910 x 100 8 1000 Velocity (fpm) D= - \/4(W) (H) V 3.14 6' CFSD -23 is available in 3 different configur below illustrate these different configuratio Configuration #1 - Fire Rated Actuator ( Fire Rated Ce ling r L 'H' 'H' H 0 - 1 F re Rated Ceiling Grille (by others Configuration #2 - Fire Rated Actuator ( r 1 j O L ----- ( Finished Ceiling Below Fire Rated Ceiling Grille (by others) Ceiling Configuration #3 - Fire Rate Actuator Actuator Space' Envelopes Siebe Landis & Staefa MA -220 Serie MA -230 Series 331 -4551 'X' Dimension 5.875" 7.5" Minimum Width 12" 13" (18 " w /options' Minimum Height 12" 18" 'A' = 'X' + Depth of Grille Consult factory if 'A' is greater than 9.5" r CONFIGURATIONS CFSD -23 is available in 3 different configurations to accommodate a variety of installation and access requirements. Tubes are expanded into continu- ous, rippled or enhanced aluminum type fins. The fins have full depth fin collars completely covering the copper tubes which are connected to heavy wall type L headers. Inlet coil connector tubes pass through relieved holes in the tube sheet for maximum resistance to piping strain and vibration. Coils are factory leak tested at a minimum of 300 PSIG, dehydrated, then filled with a nitrogen and refrigerant holding charge and sealed. FAN(S) Blades are constructed of zinc plated steel or aluminum with a maximum diameter of 30 inches and secured to the fan shaft by a heavy duty hub with set screw. Fan guards are heavy gauge, close meshed, steel wire with corrosion resistant finish. Fans are factory balanced and tested before shipment. FAN MOTOR(S) Are provided with rain slingers, permanently lubricated bearings, and individual built -In overload protection. Motors are rigidly mounted on die- formed galvanized steel supports. HEAD PRESSURE CONTROL A Liebert fan speed control system is furnished consisting of a variable speed fan motor operat- ing from 80 to 1075 RPM in 60 HZ operation and 180 to 900 RPM in 50 HZ operation. The fan motor is a specially designed single phase motor with permanently lubricated ball bearings and internal overload protection. The control system is complete with transducers, thermostats, and electrical control circuit factory wired in the control panel. Fan speed con- trol is always furnished on the fan adjacent to the connection end of the condenser which runs continuously with the compressors.
