This letter is to inform you that your permit application received at the City of Tukwila Permit
Center on June 16, 1998, was determined to be incomplete. Before your permit application can
begin the plan review process the following requirements from the Building Department must be
met.
Contact Ken Nelson, Plans Examiner at (206)431 -3670, if you have
any questions regarding the following comments.
1. Provide structural analysis for a.c. roof top locations.
The City requires that two (2) complete sets of revised plans be resubmitted with the appropriate
revision block. If your revision does not require revised plans but requires additional reports or
other documentation please submit two (2) copies of each document.
In order to better expedite your resubmittal a Revision Sheet must accompany every resubmittal. I
have enclosed one for your convenience. Revisions must be made in person and will not be
accepted through the mail or by a messenger service.

The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000
cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings
shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic
shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power
source of the air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke
in the main supply -air duct served by such equipment.
Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for
air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance
with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (UMC
608)
H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require
auto - shutdown devices. These devices shall be
separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L.
central station supervision is required. (City
Ordinance #1742)
Dedicated fire alarm system circuit breaker(s) shall
be equipped with a mechanical lockout device. (NFPA
72 (1- 5.2.8.2))
Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset
from the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #1742)
In areas that are not continuously occupied, automatic
smoke detection shall be provided at each control
unit(s) location to provide notification of fire at
that location. (NFPA 1 - 5.6)
