Dear Ken:
Job Name: COSTCO
Permit #: M98 -0194
I am following up with our conversation based on the attached letter.
The existing building which Costco occupies has and independent boiler room which
meets the Uniform Building Code section: 302.5.
The room Is separated by full height 2 -hour rated walls.
The existing boilers are gas fired. The new boilers are equivalent replacement gas fired
boilers.
The boiler room has the high and low combustion air opening.
The new boilers will have power exhaust fans to sufficiently discharge the flue gases
through the existing flue stack.
The new boilers meet the Washington State Energy Code for efficiencies.
Per the conversation regarding the incomplete floor plans, we had discussed that this is a
giant warehouse with the boilers located in the Southwest corner of the building.
The person to contact at Costco for direction and assistance is David Pepe. 206 -575 -9191
Please call me or fax me if you have any questions regarding the above information.
Thank you,
Jay W. Madden

Greater energy efficiencies as
high as 82% are achieved through
state -of- the -art design: Efficient heat
transfer and reduced standby losses,
combined with precise electronic
controls, result in lower operating costs.
Mighty Therm's energy efficiency has
been tested by both A.G.A. Laborato-
ries and the Canadian Gas Association.
Design - certified by American Gas
Association Laboratories under ANSI
Standard Z2I.13, and Canadian Gas
Association standards. Boilers may be
specified for use with natural or
propane gas.
Indoor and outdoor models are
available for maximum application
flexibility.
Working pressure of 160 psi is
standard in accordance with Section IV
ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Units are factory tested at 400 psi and
registered with the National Board of
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors or
the applicable Canadian provincial
jurisdiction.
To simplify the selection and
specifying of Teledyne Laars Mighty
Therm boilers, use the following alpha-
numeric numbering system. This system
is an excellent working tool. The letters
and digits comprise a specific model

Integral finned copper tubes
meeting ASME specification SB 75 are
rolled directly into headers. Conformal
heat exchanger baffles and an eight -fins-
per -inch tubing configuration extract
combustion heat with maximum
efficiency.
Heat exchanger headers conform
to Article 2, Part HC of ASME Code.
External header covers are field
removable for complete inspection of
tubing and header passages. Heat
exchanger is replaceable without
disassembly of burners or combustion
chamber.
Pressure relief valve Is ASME
rated and is selected to provide
discharge capacity in excess of unit
heating input.
Combustion chamber is Teledyne
Laars' lightweight cast refractory utilizing
calcium aluminate cement with 2000'F
working temperature.
Burners are atmospheric type
constructed of AISI alloy 430 (sizes 125-

The new bolters will have power exhaust fans to sufficiently discharge the flue gases
through the existing flue stack.
The new boilers meet the Washington State Energy Code for efficiencies.
Per the conversation regarding the Incomplete floor plans, we had discussed that this is a
giant warehouse with the boilers located in the Southwest corner of the building.
The person to contest at Costco for direction and assistance Is David Pepe. 206-575-9191
Please call me or fax me if you have any questions regarding the above information.
