CONSTRUCTION
Cabinet - Heavy gauge, rust -proof smooth finish aluminum
housing. All hardware is corrosion resistant. Full die - formed
venturies minimize noise with maximum air throw. Fan guards
are heavy gauge wire basket type coated for corrosion protection.
Coil - Copper tube, full collared die - formed aluminum plate fin
and tube sheets. Tubes are mechanically expanded for maximum
heat transfer. Coils are leak tested at 350 psig under water. Solder
and flare type distributors with removable nozzles. Each nozzle
is sized for the specified refrigerant and temperature range. All
coils require external equalized expansion valve. Expansion valve
is located within the cabinet. The expansion valve compartment
is heated during the defrost cycle on electric defrost models.
Fans - Heavy duty steel blades and hubs, statically and dynamically
balanced for smooth operation. Selected for maximum air throw.
Motors - Permanently lubricated, suitable for low
temperature applications. Motors are heavy duty, high
efficiency, full ball bearing and have internal thermal
overloads. Fan motors are pre -wired to terminal blocks.
Refrigerants - All coils are designed for use with
many refrigerants.
Electric Defrost models include pre -wired terminal blocks,
low watt density heaters, housed internal to the coil for
a rapid and efficient defrost. Lower coil and drain pan
heater provide fast and reliable condensate drain. Standard,
operating control includes an adjustable defrost termination
with fan delay.
Mounting - The standard mounting configuration is ceiling
hung, but optional floor mounting is available.
SERVICEABILITY

New LW Series!
The LW Series is ideal for floral storage, fresh fruit
and vegetables, dough retarding, fresh meat
storage and preparations, and many other
applications of 35 °F. and above. The low air
flow and quiet fans are ideal for work room
applications. The generous coil surface
combined with close T.D. system balance
provides high humidity characteristics to minimize
product shrinkage and drying. LW Series units are
available in air, electric and hot gas defrost.

Features
Larkin Model LPE 1 -tan low flow unit cooler.
• Low height of the LW series makes it ideal for low ceiling coolers. Larger models are only 15 inches tall to allow for
maximum head room and more product storage.
• The LW series has a heavy gauge, attractive grained aluminum housing with stainless steel
• Coils are dehydrated and sealed at the factory.
• LWE electric defrost models incorporate high quality tubular heaters and a defrost
termination control factory set and wired.
• Unit designed to be mounted flush against the ceiling or suspended on rods.
• Access panels on each end make expansion valve installation and electrical hookup easy.
• Motors are life lubricated and thermal overload protected.
• Fan panel is lightweight and can easily be lowered if internal inspection is required.
• A double drain pan eliminates drain pan sweating.
• Expansion valve mounts inside the cabinet.
• All LW Series units are UL listed, UL classified to NSF C2 -1983 and UL listed for
Canada .
