Skins are tb be secured to a structural frame constructed of high - density urethane lumber, providing 3.5" (89MM), 4" (100MM) or.5 -1/2" (140MM) panel thickness as specified, The high. density lumber is to be formed with a tongue, 2 groove, or flat surface ..; •d is to be placed at the edge of each panel as opropriate to the mating surface. Tongue and groove at all panel joints, flat only at wall -to- building floor joints. High- density lumber shall form ail sides of the sectional panel. Density shall be no less than 8 lb, (3.6KG) Cubic foot to assure gripping stability of fasteners. B) Wood frame construction: Kiln dried lumber frames, nominal 3 -1/2' (89MM), shall be molded at one broad taoe with a tongue, groove or flat surface, and to be placed at the edge of each panel as relevant to the mating surface. K.D. 5.1/2' (140MM) and 2-1/2' (64MM) wood frames shall be Joined with flat butt joints. No light- density urethane foam will be exposed except for Injection ports and framing members. 5. INSULATION: The individual panels shall be insulated with non -CFC foamed -in -place (poured, not frothed) polyurethane binding tenaciously to the metal skins to form a rigid panel. The CLASS 1 insulation shall be certified by Underwriters' Laboratories as having a flame spread of 25 or lower and smoke generation of 450 or lower when tested in accordance with ASTM E84.78. This designa- tion is not Intended to reflect hazards presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions. The thermal conductivity factor (•K") shall not exceed 0.115 BTU per hour per square foot per degree fahrenheit per. inch. Overall coefficient of heat transfer ( "U ") factor shall not exceed .05 and (R) factor shall be (R -21) for 2.1/2" (64MM) thick walls, (U ",033) and (R -30) for 3.1/2" (89MM) walls, (U -.029) and (R -34) for 4' (100MM) walls and (U -,021) and (R -46) for 5-1/2" (140MM) walls. The insulation must remain stable at a temperature range of .-60 °F ( -50°C) to +200 °F (93°C) (Dry heat), and have a density of 2.2 lbs. 6. SECTIONAL FASTENERS All vertical wall sections, floor sections and ceiling section joints shall be fastened together with steel cam action speed locks. Each device shall consist of a precisely located cam lock and steel encased pin. These fasteners shall not exceed on- center spacing of 48" (122CM) on hi- density frame panels and 48' (122CM) on wood frame panels. Kalt's exclusive cam system for hl- density frames has a superior load bearing surface providing more positive structural integrity. All camlocks shall be actuated from inside of the walk -In with a standard type 5/16' (7.9MM) Allen wrench. A wrench shall be furnished with each walk -In delivered. Snap caps shall be provided to dose wrench holes, 7, GASKETS: All sectional panels will be joined together by a double row of NSF approved extruded vinyl foam gasket secured at the interior and exterior edges. Gasket shall be either white or grey to match the metal finish of the panel. This will provide a panel-to-panel self sealing airtight joint. Gaskets shall be resistant to damage from oil, fats, water, detergents and sunlight. S. FLOORS: A) Light usage.filoore: When a sectional insulated floor is required, the same construction wlli be used as the roof panels, Wearing surface wilt be clad with 16 ga,.galvanized steel and will withstand 600 lbs. per square foot (2930KG per square meter). B) Hand Truck;Appilcatlon: O.S.S. 3/4" (19MM) A.P.A. rated shall be used for backing under 16 ga. galvanized steel to increase load capacity for "heavyload" hand truck applications (750 lb. per square foot, 3660KG per square meter). C) Pallet Jack Application: 1.5" (38MM) OSB shall be applied at, backing for pallet jack traffic under 16 ga, galvanized steel wearing surface (950 lb. per square foot, 4640KG per square meter). For heavier forklift traffic consult factory. 0) Sleepers (treated 2x4's) are recommended to be placed 16" (41 CM) O.C. under the floor panels running 909 to the panel length, for maximum air ventilation to guard against ice buildup in enclosures under 32QF (M). All construction and preparation of areas to be used for Katt floor'panels shall be SY OTHERS, E) Concrete Rid pit: When it Is nedessary to maintain the same floor level for both outside and inside the enclosure, the concrete pad shall be made with a depression equal to the thickness of the Kalt floor panel, If sleepers or quarry tile are used, increase the depth to accommo• date them accordingly. F) 8ulit -in Insulated pits shall be constructed at the jobsite by others. It shall consist of a depressed, reinforced subsiab, Boardstock urethane shall be stagger - stacked into this depressed slab over a 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier underfayrnent. Treated 2x4's or a high density urethane 2x4 rail shall be installed vertically skirting the perimeter to form a thermal breaker strip. A reinforced concrete wearing floor shall be poured on top, Wall screed shall be at- tached to the thermal breaker strip. Adequate drainage and ventilation (or other heat source) must be provided beneath and around all construction as local conditigns dictate. 9. DOORS AND HARDWARE: Wail panels that have door openings within shall be called 'doorframes" and will be made 48' (122CM), 64" (163CM) or 72" (183CM) wide.
