Unit will be completely factory assembled, run tested, piped, internally wired, and fully charged with R -22, and the compressor will be oil charged. Cooling capacity will be rated In accordance with ART Standard 360, Unit will have decals and tags to aid in service and indicate caution areas. Electrical diagrams will be printed on long life water resistant material and will ship attached to control panel door, Unit Casing Exterior panels have a minimum of 125 ounce zinc coating per square foot of steel, phosphatized and will be painted with an oven dried, water based enamel finish which meets a 672 how' salt spray test based on the ASTM BI 17 standard for salt spray resistance. Screws will be coated with zinc -plus -zinc chromate. Interior surfaces or exterior casing members will have 1/2 " Tuf Skin fiberglass insulation. Unit base will be watertight with 14 gauge formed load bearing members, formed recess and curb overhang. Unit lifting tugs will accept chains or cables for rigging. FLt7 ■ Furnished by 'Oar* /Installed by Mori Lifting lugs will also serve as unit tiedown points. Scroll Compressors Trans 3-D Scroll compressors will have a simple mechanical design with only three major moving parts and no suction or discharge valves. Scroll type compression and 3 -D compliance to provide a completely enclosed compression chamber with no leakage paths and the ability for scroll plates to separate, allowing liquid refrigerant to pass through without damage to the compressor. Trane 3-D Scroll compressor will include a direct - drive, 3600 rpm, suction gas cooled hermetic motor, centrifugal oil pump, oil sight glass and oil charging valve, Control of compressor will allow lead /lag of multiple compressors /circuits for even run time to increase life of compressors. Evaporator Coll internally enhanced seamless copper tubing of 1/2" O.D. will be mechanically bonded to heavy -duty aluminum fins of conflgurated design. Coil wilt be equipped with thermal expansion valves and factory pressure and leak tested at 300 psig. Trans Submittal PRO P. 02 August 10, 1099 Aluminum Fin Condenser Coil Configurated aluminum fin secondary surface will be mechanically bonded to primary surface of 3/8" O.D. seamless copper tubing. Subcooling circuits will be provided as standard. Coils will be factory tested at 450 psig air pressure and vacuum dehydrated. Control System The rooftop unit utilizes a DDC microprocessor control system which is suitable for CV and VAV applications. The control system is factory installed in the main control panel with the necessary Internal controls and run tested. Terminal blocks for field power wiring connections are standard, Units provide a location for a non -fused disconnect switch with an external handle for safety. Unit mounted microprocessor controls provide compressor anti -short cycle protection. The unit is equipped with a Human interface Panel With a 16 key keypad, e 2 line by 40 character English display to provide the operator with full adjustment and display of control data function. The unit controls can bo used as a stand -alono controller or as part of a building management system. Zone sensors are available in several Papa 2 of 13 NIqQ .hiacj AUG-10 -99 TUE 03:04 PM combinations and selectable features. Condenser Fans and Motors All condenser fans will be vertical discharge, direct drive fans, statically balanced, with steel blades and zinc plated steel hubs. Condenser fan motors wilt be three -phase motors with permanently lubricated ball bearings, built -in current and thermal overload protection and weathertight stingers over motor bearings, Supply Fans Supply fans will have two double Inlet, forward -curved fans mounted on common shaft with fixed sheave drive and will be dynamically balanced and tested in factory. Supply fan will be test run in unfit as part of unit test and unit will reach rated rpm before the fan shaft passes through first critical speed. Fan shaft will be mounted on two grease lubricated ball bearings designed for 200,000 hours average life. Fan motor and fan assembly will be mounted on common base to allow consistent belt tension with no relative motion between fan and motor shafts. Entire assembly will be completely isolated from unit end fan board by double deflection rubber -In -shear isolation, All supply fan motors meet the U.S. Energy policy Act of 1992 (EPACT). Variable Air Volume with inlet Vanes System Control The unit will be provided with ell the necessary controls to control /operate a variable air volume (VAV) rooftop from the discharge air temperature, including a discharge air microprocessor controller, a discharge air sensor, pressure sensor and inlet guide vanes. The microprocessor controller coordinates the economizer controls and the stages of cooling FLD ■ Furnished by Tame / Installed by Others XEROX FAX NO, with zone or outdoor air reset capabilities and an adjustable control band to fine -tune the control to specific applications. The inlet guide vanes are used with the VAV rooftop to control duct static pressure. Option includes vanes and static pressure controls. Forward -curved fans with Intel vanes are the most efficient way to mechanically modulate airflow. 100% Exhaust with Statitrac Two centrifugal fans mounted on a common shaft with fixed sheaves. The fan is factory dynamically balanced and tested. Shaft bearings are grease lubricated ball type designed for 200,000 hours average life. Fan motor and fan assembly are mounted on common base. Entire assembly is isolated from the unit by spring isolation. Statitrac, a differential pressure control system, compares the indoor building pressure to the atmospheric pressure. The exhaust fan Is turned on and the discharge dampers at the fan outlet modulates when the building pressure exceeds the specified deadband configured in the Rooftop Human Interface Control. All exhaust fan motors meet the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPACT). High Efficiency Throwaway Filter Filters are 2" high efficiency media type with average dust spot efficiency of 25 -35 percent and an average arrestance in excess of 90 percent when tested In accordance with ASHRAE 52 -76. 0 •100 Percent Economizer Automatically modulating return and outside air dampers assist in the maintaining of the control temperature setpoint to allow "free" cooling. The economizer Is equipped with an automatic lockout when the outdoor enthalpyftemperature is not suitable for space temperature Pane Submittal P. 03 August 10, 1999 control. Minimum position is standard and adjustable with either the Human Interface Control, remote potentiometer, or through the building management system. A spring return actuator insures closure of the outside air dampers during shutdown or power interruption. Mechanical cooling is available to assist the economizing mode. Low leek dampers are standard with a leakage rate of 2.5 percent of nominal airflow of 400 Cfm per ton at a static pressure of 1 "w.c. Hot Gas Bypass Valves, piping and controls are all included to allow operation at low airflow, avoiding coil frosting and damage to compressor. Generic Building Automation System (GBAS) Modulo The GBAS module is provided for use with a non -Trane building management system. The module provides a binary input for Demand Limiting, four (4) analog inputs for setpoint adjustment and five (6) relay outputs for diagnostic reporting, Inputs can use a potentiometer or 0 -5 vdc signal, Extended Grease Line The extended grease lino allows greasing of the supply and exhaust fan bearings through the filter access door. Access Doors Hinged access doors provide easy access to service areas, These access doors feature double wall construction with dual density insulation sandwiched between 18- gauge and 20 -gauge galvanized steel panels for strength and durability. Temperature Thermlster The temperature thermister Is used to communicate temperature changes in either the Zone, Return Alr, Supply Air or Outside Ambient.
