Note: Do not store panels with protective film in sunlight or high temperature areas for an extended period of time. Carefully remove film after panel assembly. The Walk -In interior is the panel side with the cam -lock hole openings. When viewed from the interior, the sidewall panels should have the tongue side on the right edge and the groove side on the left edge (see figure 1). Do not put the Walk -In together upside down. NOTE: Special panels may have double tongues or grooves and exterior cam -lock holes due to special construction or requirements. For ease of assembly, all cam -lock Walk -Ins have numbers on the edge of the panels. The numbers on the panels correspond to the numbers on the assembly drawing shipped with the panels. The panels have been matched at the factory and when erected according to the drawings, with the numbers matching panel to panel, all panels will fit tightly together and make a properly assembled Walk -In. The cam -lock fasteners pull and lock the panels together (see figure 2). The cam -lock wrench should be inserted into the lock before the panels are pushed together and the handle turned counterclockwise as far as it will go. This will cock the cam fully and assure correct latching when turned clockwise to lock. The panels should be pushed together tightly before locking. If for any reason the cam is backed off after it has been turned clockwise, it should be turned as far as it will go counterclockwise and then clockwise to relock. Note: When locking double tongue panel, rotation of cam -locks is reversed. Hole plugs are provided to insert in the cam -lock holes. They should be inserted after Walk -In is totally assembled and locked in final position. Silicone sealant is provided to seal any openings where air might infiltrate, I.E. refrigerant lines, utility lines, and any other openings made for fastening or mounting accessories after Walk -In assembly. All utility lines and connections for electrical and plumbing are the customer's responsibility. Various items are shipped loose due to pre - assembly constraints or unknown on -site restriction. Please check packing list for these items and optional accessories. FIGURE 1 SIDEWALL PANEL G (GROOVE) T (TONGUE) FIGURE 2 CAM-LOCK RECEIVED CITY OF TUK}NILA NOV 1 0 1999 PERMIT CENTER FLOOR SITE PREPARATION The location of floor site where the Walk -In is to be erected is very important. Allowance should be made for door width swing clearance plus 6 inches. Also allow for utility line connections and refrigeration lines if remote refrigeration unit(s). Mark on the floor site the length and width of the Walk -In. Check the area for squareness by measuring across the corners. Note: Walk -In freezers without floor panels require insulation under the wearing floor and a one inch frost break near outer perimeter walls (see figures 4, 5, and 6). Redwood or other suitable insulation material should be used and in place before Walk -In installation. The levelness of the Walk -In floor is extremely important. If the floor is not level, the panels will not be plumb and the panels will be out of alignment. This could cause the self closing door not to close or seal properly. When the floor requires leveling, the desired method is with wooden support shims. Locate the high point of the floor site. The entire floor area must be leveled from this highest point. On Walk -Ins larger than 105(10', it is advisable that transit be used to level the floor rather than a spirit level. Walk -Ins with floor panels require shims be used at each end, at all wall seams and at each floor seam and should be spaced no farther than 23 inches apart. (SEE FIGURE 3) The shims must extend under the whole floor panel, not just the edges. Walk -Ins with no floor panels require shims be used at each end and under all wall seams. Shimming will reduce the load limits recommended for the floor panels. Shimmed floor panels will not support heavy rolling loads such as stock trucks, fork -lifts or pallet trucks. Foam floor panels are not recommended for such usage unless special consideration is given to floor design or construction. o 1 SHIM AT END, AT EACH WALL SEAM AND EACH FLOOR SECTION. Keefe, Fire Chief The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. Maintain sprinkler coverage per N.F.P.A. 13. Addition /relocation of walls, closets or partitions may require relocating and /or adding sprinkler heads. (new freezer) 2. New sprinkler systems and all modifications to sprinkler systems involving more than 50 heads shall have the written approval of the W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual, Industrial Risk Insurers, Kemper or any other representative designated and /or recognized by The City of Tukwila, prior to submittal to the Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. (City Ordinance #1742) 3. Local U.L. central station supervision is required. (City Ordinance #1742) 4. Contact The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau to witness all required inspections and tests.
