Permit Conditions:
1. No changes will be made to the plans unless approved by the
Engineer and the Tukwila Building Division.
2. Plumbing permits shall be obtained through the Seattle-King
County Department of 'Public Health. Plumbing will be
inspected by that agency, including all gas piping
(296-4722).
3. Electrical permits shall be obtained through the Washington
State Division of Labor and Industries and all electrical
work will be inspected by that agency (248-6630),
4. All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be
available at the job site prior to the start of any con-
struction. These documents are to be maintained and avail-
able-until final inspection approval is granted. ,
5. EquipMent requiring electrical connections of more than
50 volts 'shall have a positive means of disconnect adjacent
to and in sight from the equipment served. A 120 volt,rec-
ptacle shall be located within 25 feet of the equipment for
service and maintenance purposes. UMC 309.1
6. Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is
required. Note Readily accessible, means capable of being
reached. safely and quickly for operation, repair or inspec-
tion without requiring those to Whom ready access is req-
uisite to, climb over or remove obstacles, or resort to the
use 01 portable access equipment. UMC 203-A
7. Ducts not within conditioned space, on ,exterior of building,
on roof, in attic, or in enclosed ceiling spaces shall be
insulated in accordance with Washington State Nonresidential
Energy Code Table 14-5. Minimum installed R-7 insulation
with approved 'weatherproof barrier.
8. Each system shall be provided with at least one temperature
control device. Each zone shall be controlled by Ilndividual
thermostatic controls responding to temperature within the
zone. At a minimum, each floor of a building shall be con-
sidered as a separate zone,
9. All construction to be done in conformance with approved
plans and requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1994
Edition) as amended, Uniform Mechanical Code (1994 Edition),
and Washington State Energy Code (1994 Edition).
10. Validity of Permit. The issuance of a permit or approval of
plans, specifications, and computations shall not be con-
strued to be a permit for, or an approval of, any violation
of any of the provisions of the building code or of any
other ordinance of the jurisdiction. No permit presuming to
give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of this
code shall be valid.

The installation of wiring and equipment shall be in
Thomas P. Keefe, Fire Chief
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require
auto- shutdown devices. These devices shall be separately
zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L. central station
supervision.is required'. (City Ordinance #1742)
H.V.A.C. systems supplying air in excess of 2,000
cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within
' buildings shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff.
Automatic 'shutoff shall be accomplished by
interrupting the power source of the.air- moving
equipment upon detection of smoke in the main
supply -air duct served by such equipment. Smoke
detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for
air -duct installation and shall be installed in
accordance with the manufacturer's installation
instructions. (UMC 608)
2. Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset
from the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #1742)
Remote indicator lights are required on all above
ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #1742)
3. In areas that are not continuously occupied, automatic
smoke detection shall be provided at each control unit(s)
location to provide notification of fire at that location.

Protective Signaling Systems. (NFPA 72 -1- 5.5.4)
4. When the control panel is located inside a room, the
door to the room shall have a sign with one -inch letters
which reads "Fire Alarm" or "Fire Alarm Control ". (City
Ordinance #1742)
Dedicated fire alarm system circuit breaker(s) shall
be equipped with a mechanical lockout device. (NFPA
72 (1- 5.2.8.2))
5. All new fire alarm systems or modifications to
existing systems shall have the written approval of The
Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence
until a fire department permit has been obtained. (City
Ordinance #1742) (UFC 1001.3)
Contact The .Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau to witness all
required inspections and tests. (UFC 10.503) (City
Ordinance #1742)
Any overlooked hazardous condition and /or violation of the
