DO NOT CREATE FIRE HAZARDSI : Selecting a Location guidelines for Selecting a Location Determining Air,Flow From the Fyrnjce vperatur s manual: Meads l.IS -140U, CM -1$W, ama C1S-280U The location you select for your furnace must allow the following: • Unobstructed, even heat distribution. • Safe, easy access for servicing. • Unobstructed passage for shop vehicles and equipment. • Proper clearances from combustibles. Verify according to your local safety codes. • Adequate combustion air per local codes. • Proper stack installation. Adhere to the following minimum clearances from combustible surfaces and to provide adequate clear- ance for servicing: • TOP 18" • FRONT (burner side) 24" • REAR (stack side) 36" • LOUVER END 60" • BLOWER/FAN END 24" • BOTTOM 24" • CHIMNEY CONNECTOR 18" WARNING: Your local codes may require that your furnace is mounted a minimum of eight (8) feet off the ground if there is the possibility of gasoline furores or other combustible or explosive fumes in your shop area. Refer to NFPA -88B. One important consideration in selecting the proper location for your furnace is heat distribution, i.e, how the air (heat) will circulate from your furnace. Depending on the type of furnace you ordered (Unit Heater or Central Furnace), you will use one of two air flow configurations: • "Free air" circulation : this method is the easiest and most economical. In this case, industrial -size ceiling fans may be installed to aid in efficient, even heat distribution. NOTE: If the peak of your shop roof /ceiling is 14 feet or higher, Clean Burn recommends the use of industrial -size ceiling fans to gently redistribute the heat from the furnace. A minimum of one Clean Burn 56" Blade Industrial Ceiling Fan (C.B. part# 70003) or equivalent is recommended for each 2000 square feet of heated shop space. • Ductwork (central furnace ONLY ): this method is more complex and requires careful planning and additional investment for proper installation. lf you plan to duct your furnace, it is essential that qualified HVAC personnel design and install the ductwork system according to the specifications provided in this section. w vane r°• Welling Mounting AMI•Sik 111•13•••=11111111•11111111111111111 Detergnlniug 4I r Flaw From the Furnace lcontinttedl Air Flow (CFM) and Static Pressure (SP) Specifications for CB -1800 and Q Central Furnace Models Static i.e "H20 in Outlet 0.20* 0.30* CB-1800 Central Furnace CFM 2300 2200 CB- Central Furnace CFM 3300 3100 *CAUTION: A qualified electrician must check the blower motor amperage during operation of the furnace to ensure that motor amperage does not exceed 85% of the maximum amperage on the motor label. Mounting the Furnace After selecting a safe and appropriate location for your furnace, construct the mounting system as required by the location and the following specifications. 'My Clean Burn furnace increased my profits by eliminating high heating costs and the ever increas- ing costs of used oil disposal. I turned a costly liability into an asset. If you generate used oil and don't have a Clean Burn furnace, you are absolutely throwing away money." Don Horning Horning Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Inc. New Holland, PA 'We use two Clean Burn furnaces to heat 82 stalls in our 116,000 square foot service area, where the thermostats sit on 72° day and night. They saved more than enough in heating costs to pay for themselves the first year. That's better than a 100% return on investment plus we don't have the cost of having our used oil hauled away." Bruton Smith Town and Country Ford Charlotte, NC Increase your profits with an EPA-approved method of used oil disposal. I t wasn't that long ago when used oil was placed in landfills. That quickly ended with the knowledge that a gallon of used oil has the potential to pollute one million gallons of drinking water. As an alternative, re- refining of used oil seemed like the answer; but lower oil prices made re- refining economically impractical. Today, most of the used oil that you pay to have hauled away is burned as an industrial fuel. In other words, your used oil is providing a cheap energy source for somebody else. To make matters worse, that somebody else isn't relieving you of the "cradle to grave" liability of your used oil during its transport and disposal. There is a better solution. A solution that will increase your profits by eliminating used oil transporting and disposal costs, high heating costs and liability from environmental damage. The solution is the on -site burning of your used oil in an EPA-approved Clean Burn multi -oil furnace. Clean Burn multi -oil furnaces comply to the latest EPA rulings regulating the on -site burning of used oil. They are: fl Oil for the furnace must be generated on -site or, when acting as a collection site, used oil brought to the site from do -it- yourself oil changers. fl The furnace is restricted to an output capacity of no more than 500,000 Btu /hr. n The furnace must be vented to the ambient air. These EPA rulings provide you the ability to recycle used oil in a safe manner without the costs (and fear of liability) associated with second - person collection, transportation and disposal. In addition, burning your used oil on -site greatly reduces (if not eliminates) the cost of heating your facility. Both these savings will significantly reduce your operational overhead and increase your profitability. Technology, q uality and after- the-sale support make Clean Burn the industry leader.
