INFORMATIONAL MEMORANDUM
ISSUE
Review Water, Sewer, and Surface Water projects in the Proposed 2013 2018 Capital
Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND
The City annually approves the 6 -year Financial Planning Model and Capital Improvement
Program. This year both the Proposed 2013 2014 Biennial Budget and Proposed 2013 2018
CIP will be presented to Council for adoption. Budget Workshops are being held October 9, 10,
and 11, 2012 to review the two documents. Per Utilities Committee request, the Water, Sewer,
and Surface Water CIP projects will also be reviewed in depth at the Committee level.
DISCUSSION
The Proposed 2013 2018 CIP includes some additions and deletions from last year. Some of
the highlights that will be reviewed include:
Water
Added Water Reservoir, page 90
Added Pipeline Asset Management, page 91
Main Projects in next two years:
Andover Park West (with TUC Transit Center)
Andover Park East Water Main Replacement
Surface Water
Added 4 new projects, see page 137
Sewer
Valley View West Hill Transfer Area, pg. 122
Sewer Repair at 14438 59 Ave S, pg. 134
Main Projects in next two years:
CBD Sewer Rehabilitation
Various smaller projects
Main Projects in next two years:
Storm Lift Station No, 15, Soils Reclamation Facility, and 42 Ave S Culvert
RECOMMENDATION
Information only, full Council will adopt the entire 2013 2018 CIP by Resolution.
