The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. H.V.A.C, systems supplying air in excess of 2,000
cubic feet per minute to enclosed spaces within buildings
shall be equipped with an automatic shutoff. Automatic
shutoff shall be accomplished by interrupting the power
source of the air - moving equipment upon detection of smoke
in the main supply -air duct served by such equipment.
Smoke detectors shall be labeled by an approved agency for
air -duct installation and shall be installed in accordance
with the manufacturer's installation instructions. (UMC
608)
H.V.A.C. units rated at greater than 2,000 cfm require
auto- shutdown devices. These devices shall be
separately zoned in the alarm panel and local U.L.
central station supervision is required. (City
Ordinance #1742)
Duct smoke detectors shall be capable of being reset
from the alarm panel. (City Ordinance #1742)
Remote indicator lights are required on all above
ceiling smoke detectors. (City Ordinance #1742)
2. All new fire alarm systems or modifications to
existing systems shall have the written approval of The
Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No work shall commence
until a fire department permit has been obtained. (City

2.07 HEATING & COOUNG EQUIPMENT
A. "Heating and cooling equipment shall be less than 8 years old
and shall be in good working order. Submit complete . and
detailed service records. . GAP at their discretion may
accept units older than 8 years if Landlord will guarantee
no units will be down for more than 48 hours and take full
responsibility for service and repair of units.
B. New heating and cooling equipment shall be Carrier
High Efficiency packaged gas /electric or heat pump -
units. .
C. If economizers are required by code for new units,
economizers shall be added to existing units. Where not
required by local ' codes provide economizers in compliance
with ASHRAE standard 90.1-1989. .
0. Fitting rooms, Stock Area and Offices shall be served by a
separate unit form the in Soles area. •
E. Units shall be sized based on heating and cooling loads
calculated for the following conditions:

heating. Submit load calculations for review. Additional

E.B. Ward Co. and Fisher Development /GAP, Inc. Equipment
pricing should be obtained by contacting Richard Frenzel

(415)872 -5252. The equipment specified on MP.1 is being
held for this project and will be released by E.B. Word Co.
upon the mechanical contractor's purchase order. A .
purchase order must be issued to E.H. Ward within three
working days of contract award with Fisher Development.
G. Where winter design temperature is below 25 F (ASHRAE 99%
Column) and the toilets are located near exterior walls

PART 4. . -• SYSTEM BALANCING
4,01 SCOPE
A. Work included: The work under this Section ' shall include the
complete adjustment and balancing of the mechanical systems
and :submittal of a report,

certified testing and balancing engineer.
4,02 EXECUTION
The following tests, measurements . and adjustments shall be
performed as a,'rninimum and' report including all specified

cooling, and ventilation equipment.
B. Test and adjust fans as required for complete air balance
and record motor amperes and static pressure across fans.

C. Test, adjust and record the CFM at each air ,outlet and inlet
to within 10% of that required on the drawings.
D. Adjust all supply registers, grilles and diffusers to

E. Test, adjust, and record outdoor air CFM for each AC unit.
F. Test and record outdoor air temperatures and temperatures
entering and leaving cooling and heating coils.
G. Test and record entering and leaving wet bulb temperatures
at each cooling coil.

and leaving air temperatures and water temperatures where
applicable at full cooling and full heating.

locking vandal - resistant cover, or J.R. Smith equal, every
75 feet on, exterior perimeter walls.
