Each zone shall be controlled by individual thermostatic controls responding to temperature within the zone. At a minimum, each floor of a building shell be considered as a separate zone. 1412.2 Deadband Controls: When used to control both consort heating and cooling, zone thermostatic conrols shall bo capable of a deadband of at least 5 degrees F which the supply of heating and cooling energy to the zone is shut off or reduced to a nnimum Exceptions: 1. Special occupancy, special usage, or code requirements where deadband controls are not appropriate. 2. Heating only systems which have a capacity of less than 5,000 cfm or which have a minimum outside air supply of less than 70 percent of tho total air circulation.
