AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, AMENDING SECTION 6
OF ORDINANCE #264.
AS FOLLOWS:
as follows:

REPEALED BY ORD 1134
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
Section 6. of Ordinance #264 is hereby amended to read
"Section 6. The following minimum sizes, standards of
design, construction, aid quality of materials shall apply to
any and all water mains, extensions and branches hereinafter
installed in the City of Tukwila.
(a) Residential water connections shall use standard
galvanized pipe or copper tubing up to and including
3/4 inch in size.
(b) All mains and appurtenances thereto shall be cast
iron and fittings shall be class 150 titon or MJ.
(c) In areas zoned for industry or business, mains
shall be a minimum of 8 inches in diameter. (I.D.)
(d) In areas zoned residential, mains shall be a mini-
mum of 6 inches in diameter. (I.D.)
(e) Fire hydrant installations shall have a minimum
4 inch main valve opening (m.v.o.) or 42 -inch trench
and shall be flanged at the ground line and shall have
a 6 -inch MJ connection, with 2 to 21 -inch hose con-
nections A.S.A. (National) standard thread. Gates
shall be installed from the main to control each hydrant.
Plans for replacement of hydrants shall be submitted to
the City Engineer for approval.
(f) All plans and specifications for water system
installation must be presented to the City of Tukwila
Water Department for inspection of and approval of these
minimum standards.
(g) Permits to install water systems must be secured
from the City of Tukwila Water and Street Department
before commencing installation, and street repair bonds
to assure restoration are required.
PASSED BY THE TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL AND APPROVED BY THE
MAYOR THIS 1st day of July, 1963.
