HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-07-10 - Comments Deadline - Thorndyke Elementary Safe Routes to School CITY OF TUKWILA PUBLIC NOTICE Thorndyke Elementary Safe Routes to School Project DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: July 10, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) The City of Tukwila, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila WA 98188, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) and State Waste Discharge General Permit. The proposed project, Thorndyke Elementary Safe Routes to School, is located at South 150th Street between Tukwila International Boulevard and 42nd Avenue South in Tukwila, in King County, WA. This project involves 1.5 acres of soil disturbance for roadway, sidewalk and storm drainage construction activities. The receiving water(s) is/are Gilliam Creek. Any persons desiring to present their views to the department of Ecology regarding this application may do so in writing within thirty days of the last date of publication of this notice or July 10, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time). Comments shall be submitted to the department of Ecology. Any person interested in the department’s action on this application may notify the department of their interest within thirty days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II antidegradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
