VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the applicant. This figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees. EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once. See Hazard Levels, Page 2. INSTALLATION AND OPERATION The instructions in this manual apply to Reznor Model F and Model B gas - fired, gravity - vented unit heaters. Model F unit heaters have a propellor fan for air delivery. Model B units use a centrifugal blower for air delivery and may be attached to ductwork. These heaters are designed for efficiency, as well as ease of installation and mainte- nance. Become familiar with the requirements and warnings in this manual before beginning installation. WARNING: Improper installation, adjust- ment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause property damage, injury, or death. Read the installation, operation, and mainte- nance instructions thoroughly before instal- ling or servicing this equipment. Model F and B Gas Fired Unit Heaters INSTALLATION /MAINTENANCE FORM 434 -7 OBSOLETES FORM 434 -6 APPLIES TO: Installation • Operation • Service RECEIVED CITY OF TUKWILA SEP 2 1 1993 FOR YOUR SAFETY The use and storage of gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in open containers in the vicinity of this appliance is hazardous. 1. INSTALLATION CODES Reznor Model F and B unit heaters are design - certified by the Ameri- can Gas Association and approved by the Canadian Gas Association for use with either natural or propane gas. The type of gas for which your heater is equipped and the correct firing rate are shown on the rating plate attached to your unit. Electrical characteristics are shown on the motor nameplate and on the unit rating plate. In the United Stales, these units must be installed in accordance with the standards of the National Fire Protection Association 54 (latest edition) or the Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 (latest edition). The National Fuel Gas Code is available from the American Gas Associa- tion, 1515 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22209. NFPA publica- tions are available from the National Fire Protection Association, Battery March Park, Quincy, MA 02269. A Canadian installation must be in accordance with the CAN /CGA B149,1 and 6149.2, Installation Code for Gas Burning Appliances and Equipment. Canadian codes are available from the Standards Department, Canadian Gas Associ- ation, 55 Scarsdale Road, Don Mills, Ontario M3B -2R3. Local author- ities having jurisdiction should be consulted before installations are made to verity local codes and installation procedures. Clearances from the heater and vent to combustible construction or material in storage must conform with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 (latest edition) pertaining to gas - burning devices, and such material must not attain a temperature over 160°F. by con- tinued operation of the heater.
