application completely and follow the plan submittal checklist on the reverse side of this form. Application and plans
must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
BUILDING OWNER/AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed
by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit
application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the applicant. This
figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (current
edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID THE CERTIFICATION AND GUARANTEE OF THESE CONNECTORS.
1. Where to use:
This GSW Super Pipe 6 Chimney Connector is designed to connect a gas, liquid or solid fueled appliance to a factory bu ilt or
masonry chimney. This connector must not be enclosed or passed through attics, closets, walls or ceilings. This conn ector
must not be used in place of an insulated chimney section. The minimum clearance between the connector and any
combustible material (ie. walls, ceilings, etc.) is 6" (15 cm). For mobile home installation follow the instructions for the mobile
home appliance and use the connector clearance required by the appliance.
2. Applications and Components:
For most applications a telescopic length (JSP *TL), a chimney adapter (JSP *CA1 or JSP *CA2) and a finishing trim (JSP "FT)
are all that is required (see figure 1). The following components are also available for other applications:
JSP'AL — adjustable length (12" to 18 ")
JSP*TL — telescopic length (3'6" to 5'6 ")
JSP'P6 — connector length 6"
JSP'P12 — connector length 12"
JSP *P24 — connector length 24"
JSP'P36 — connector length 36"

3. Appliance Installation:
Install the appliance according to the instructions accompanying it ensuring that the required clearances for the appliance
are maintained.
4. Chimney Installation:
Factory built: 1. Install the chimney system according to the instructions accompanying the chimney.
2. Attach a chimney adapter (JSP *CA1 or JSP *CA2) to the bottom of the lowest chimney section by inserting and turning
clockwise (see figures 4 and 5).
Masonry: Attach the masonry adaptor (JSP'MA) firmly to the chimney ensuring that the joint between the chimney and the
adaptor is sealed.
5. Connector Installation:
1. Place the telescopic length on top of the appliance with the male end up. Place the female end over the appliance outlet
and attach it with the 3 metal screws supplied (see figures 1 and 2).
NOTE: If the installation requires fixed lengths for additional height, install the fixed length on the appliance and the
telescopic length next to the chimney. Connector lengths are fastened together with the 3 metal screws supplied (see figure
4).
2. Extend the telescopic length until it fits over the chimney adapter and fasten it to the adaptor with the 3 metal screws
supplied (see figures 4 and 6).
3. Wrap the finishing trim around the joint between the length and the adapter and secure it with the nut and bolt supplied
(see figures 4 and 6).
4. Secure the top and bottom parts of the telescopic length using the 3 metal screws supplied (see figure 1).
6. 90° Elbow:
A 90° elbow is used when the chimney exits through an outside wall. The elbow fastens to the chimney adaptor and
connector lengths in the same manner mentioned above (see figures 2 and 5).

7. Offset Installation:
1. One pair (two) 45° elbows may be used to provide an offset in order to clear the appliance from any obstructions. The
maximum Inclined length of connectors between the elbows is 9 feet (2.7m).
2. The elbows attach in the same manner as described in Sections 5 and 6.
