Jim Haggerton, Mayor On December 14, 2009, the King County Council adopted a motion approving the Wastewater Treatment Division's (WTD) planning process to determine: if, how, when, where, and by what funding mechanisms over the next thirty years King County's existing water program should expand. The participating conveyance agencies including Tukwila are involved as stakeholders to provide input on the guiding principles of the reclaimed water technical and financial planning process. The purpose of the Reclaimed Water Comprehensive Plan is to develop conceptual strategies to: Analyze potential wastewater flow and where potential reclaimed water uses could be concentrated, Identify how potential uses could be supplied from available wastewater flows either through centralized or decentralized scenarios Consideration of the financing options and how the infrastructure is paid for. The City of Tukwila has been on the leading edge utilizing reclaimed water at Fort Dent (Starfire) and along the Interurban Corridor. The distribution system is now available for use at Foster Golf Links.
