Project No. 93 -DR10
Municipal Stormwater Capacity Grants FY 2012
ISSUE
Grant submission approval for available NPDES FY 2012 funding.
BACKGROUND
Jim Haggerton, Mayor
The 2010 Washington State Legislature provided $54,609,000 for local governments
covered by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase I and
II Stormwater permits. This funding will be used to implement competitive and non-
competitive grant programs. For the non competitive program, each eligible jurisdiction
will receive funding based on their population.
Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) has notified Tukwila that it has been
identified for a $118,485.00 grant from the non competitive program. A Grant
Acceptance Intent Notice must be returned to DOE by July 2, 2010. Staff has reviewed
the requirements for this funding and determined that we have proposed projects
currently programmed that meet the eligibility requirements for this non competitive
grant. Matching funds are not required.
Utilities Committee is asked to approve submission of the required Grant Acceptance
Intent Notice to the DOE.
