out the application completely and follow the plan submittal checklist on the reverse side of this form. A completed
"Mechanical Permit Fee Worksheet" must accompany this permit application. Handouts are available at the Building
counter which provide more detailed information on application and plan submittal requirements. Application and
plans must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
BUILDING OWNER / AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or
contractor licensed by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent
to submit this permit application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the
applicant. This figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of
application shall expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a
period not exceeding 180 days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform
Mechanical Code (current edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

Mechanical
Specifications
General
Blower coil units shall be completely
factory assembled including coil,
condensate drain pan, fan, motor,
fitters and controls in an insulated
casing that can be applied in horizontal
or vertical configuration.
This new line of TWE -C Air handlers
provides exclusive compact size
combined with simple 4 -Way
convertibility in sizes up to 5 Tons.
The unit ships in the right hand
horizontal configuration and converts
to vertical upflow just by standing the
unit on end. No tools required. Simple
coil rotation provides downflow and
horizontal left applications.
The 4 -Way convertibility provides you
inventory benefits and service/
installation flexibility. The simple
conversion provides opposite side
access for installation and service.
These Air Handlers enjoy the best
reputation in the industry. Superior
airflow, great sound level, reliability
and performance are responsible for
the industry leadership. We are not
about to give up such top
performance.
Units shall be UL listed and C.S.A.
certified.
Casing
Units shall have rugged sheet metal
and steel frame construction and shall
be painted with an enamel finish.
Casing shall be insulated and
knockouts shall be provided for
electrical power and control wiring.
Refrigerant Circuits
The TWE units shall have a single
refrigerant circuit. TWE030 -048C
refrigerant circuit shall be controlled by
a flow control check valve (FCCV)
TWE060C. Refrigerant circuit shall be
controlled by a factory- installed
thermal expansion valve.
Coil
Aluminum fin surface shall be
mechanically bonded to 3/8 inch OD
copper tubing. Coils shall be factory
pressure and leak tested.
Fan
Forward curved, dynamically and
statically balanced with 3 speed direct
drive shall be standard, fan motor
bearing shall be permanently
lubricated.
Controls
Low voltage terminal board, fan
contactor, and plug in module for
accessory electric heat control shall be
included. TWE models shall also
include check valves.
Fitters
Filters shall be included as standard,
One inch low velocity semi - permanent
type (except 5 ton - washable filter).
Accessories
Electric Heaters — Shall be available
in a wide range of capacities and
voltages with various staging options,
and plug -in control wiring. Heaters
shall fit inside internal compartment.

General
This unit is fully charged from the
factory for up to 25 feet of piping. This
unit is designed to operate at outdoor
ambient temperatures as high as
115'F. Cooling capacities matched
with a wide selection of air handlers
and furnace coils that are A.R.I.
certified. The unit is UL listed. Exterior
is designed for outdoor application.
Casing
Unit casing is constructed of heavy
gauge, galvanized steel and painted
with a weather- resistant powder paint.
Refrigerant Controls
Refrigeration system controls include
condenser fan and compressor
contactor. High and low pressure
controls are inherent to the
compressor. A factory installed liquid
line dryer is standard.
Mechanical
Specifications
Compressor
The Climatuff'" compressor features a
5 year limited warranty, internal over
temperature and pressure protection,
total epoxy dipped hermetic motor
windings, and thermostatically
controlled sump heater. Other features
include: roto lock suction and
discharge refrigerant connections,
centrifugal oil pump, "special steel
alloy" valves in valve plate assembly,
and internal spring mounts to reduce
vibration and noise.
Condenser Coil
The Spine Fin" coil is continuously
wrapped, corrosion resistant all
aluminum with minimum brazed joints.
This coil is 3/8 inch O,D. seamless
aluminum glued to a continuous
aluminum fin. The coil is protected on
all four sides by louvered panels and
has a 5 year limited warranty.

Low Ambient Cooling •
As manufactured, this unit has a
cooling capability when applied with
the following indoor refrigerant control:
FCCV to 55'F, TXV to 45 °F. The
addition of an evaporator defrost
control permits operation when
applied with the following indoor
refrigerant control: FCCV to 40' F.,
TXV to 30 °F.
Accessories
Thermostats — Cooling only and
heat /cooling (manual and automatic
changeover). Sub -base to match
thermostat and locking thermostat
cover.
Quick Start Kit -- Permits low
voltage operation to 180 volts or for
evaporator coils with non -bleed
expansion devices.
