All mechanical work shall be under separate permit through the City of Tukwila. All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be posted at the job site prior to the start of any construction. 6. When special inspection is required, either the owner, architect or engineer shall notify the Tukwila Building Division of appointment of the inspection agencies prior to the first building inspection. Copies of all special inspection reports shall be submitted to the Building Division in a timely manner. Reports shall contain address, project name and permit number of the project being inspected. 7. All structural concrete to be special inspected (Sec. 306, UBC). 8. All structural welding to be done by W.A.B.O. certified welder and special inspected (Sec. 306, UBC). 9. All high - strength bolting to be special inspected (Sec. 306, UBC). 10. Any new ceiling grid and light fixture installation is required to meet lateral bracing requirements for Seismic Zone 3. 11. Partition walls attached to ceiling grid must be laterally braced if over eight (8) feet in length. 'tom Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is required. 13. Engineered truss drawings and calculations shall be on site and available to the building inspector for inspection purposes. Documents shall bear the seal and signature of a Washington State Professional Engineer. Any exposed insulations backing material to have Flame Spread Rating of 25 or less, and material shall bear identification showing the fire performance rating thereof. 15. Subgrade preparation including drainage, excavation, compaction, and fill requirements shall conform strictly with recommendations given in the soils report prior to final inspection (see attached procedure). 16. A statement from the roofing contractor verifying fire retardancy of roof will be required prior to final inspection (see attached procedure). All construction to be done in conformance with approved plans and requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1988 Edition), Uniform Mechanical Code (1988 Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1990 Edition), and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free Facility (1990 Edition). 18. All food preparation establishments must have King County Health Department sign -off prior to opening or doing any food processing. Arrangements for final Health Department inspection should be made by calling King County Health Department, 296 -4787, at least three working days prior to desired inspection date. On work requiring Health Department approval, it is the contractors responsibility to have a set of plans approved by that agency on the job site. 19. Fire retardant treated wood shall have a flame spread of not over 25. All materials shall bear identification showing the fire performance rating thereof. Such identification shall be issued by an approved agency having a service for inspection at the factory. 20. Notify the City of Tukwila Building Division prior to placing any concrete. This procedure is in addition to any requirements for special inspection. 21. All spray applied fireproofing, as required by U.B.C. Standard No. 43 -8, shall be special inspected. 22. All wood to remain in placed concrete shall be treated wood. 23. All structural masonry shall be special inspected per U.B.C. Section 306 (a) 7. Validity of Permit. All food preparation establishments must have King County Health Department sign -off prior to opening or doing any food processing. On work requiring Health Department approval, it is the contractors responsibility to have a set of plans approved by that agency on the job site. 19. Fire retardant treated wood shall have a flame spread of not over 25. All materials shall bear identification showing the fire performance rating thereof. Operating range shall be between 115'F and 0'F cooling as standard from the factory Lor all units. Cooling performance shall be rated in accordance with DOE and ARI testing procedures. All units shall be factory assembled, internally wired, fully charged with R -22 and 100% run tested before leaving the factory. Wiring internal to the unit shall be colored and numbered for simplified identification. Unit shall be UL listed and labeled, classified in accordance to ANSIZ21.47 for gas fired central furnaces and UL465 for central cooling air conditioners. 2. Unit Casing: All components shall be mounted in a weather resistant steel cabinet with painted exterior to match the architect's color choice. Service panels shall have lifting handles and be removed and reinstalled by removing only a single fastener on the 7 -1/2 ton units and not more than three screws on the 8 -1/2 - 20 ton units while providing a water and air tight seal. The downflow unit's base pan shall have no penetrations within the perimeter of the curb other than the drawn 1 -1 /8" high supply /return openings to provide an added water integrity precaution, if the condensate drain backs up. The base of the unit shall have provisions for forklift and crane lifting. 3. Unit Top: The top cover shall be one piece or where seams exist, it shall be double hemmed and gasket sealed to prevent water leakage. 4. Filters: Units shall be provided with 2" filters (FARR DC 30/30 or approved equal). 5. C '-mpressors: All compressors shall be sealed hermetic, high efficiency Trane compressors with suitable vibration isolation. Evaporator and Condenser Coils: Internally finned 3/8" copper tubes mechanical bonded to configured aluminum plate fin shall be standard. Coils shall be leak tested at the factory to ensure pressure integrity. The evaporator coil and condenser coil shall be leak tested to 200 psig and pressure tested to 450 psig. 8. Gas Heating Section: The heating section shall have a drum and heat exchanger design using corrosion resistant steel components. A forced combustion blower shall supply premixed fuel to a single burner ignited by a pilotless hot surface ignition system. In order to provide reliable operation, a negative pressure gas valve shall be used that requires blower operation to initiate gas flow. On an initial call for heat, the combustion blower shall purge the heat exchanger 45 seconds before ignition. After three unsuccessful ignition attempts, the entire heating system shall be locked out until manually reset at the thermostat. Units shall be suitable for use with natural gas and also comply with Califoria requirements for low NOx emissions. Units shall have two stage heating. 9. Outdoor Fans: The outdoor fans shall be direct drive, statically and dynamically balanced, draw through in the vertical discharge position. The fan motor(s) shall be permanently lubricated and have built in thermal overload protection. 10. Indoor Fan: Unit shall have belt driven, FC centrifugal fans with adjustable motor sheaves and an adjustable idler -arm assembly for quick adjustment to fan belts and motor sheaves. Provide a direct fired make -up air /heating unit. The unit shall be designed to meet the standards for direct -fired gas heating equipment as developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z83.4). Units shall be ETL listed to ANSI standards. 2. The unit shall be shipped in one (1) piece from the factory completely wired and piped, with the exception of remote control devices, 0/A weatherhoods, filter cabinets and roof curbs. Removable lifting lugs are to be provided from the factory for rigging the unit. 3. The cabinet shall be of double -wall construction with if inch, 1 lb. density insulation. The construction material shall be aluminized steel with factory finish paint as per, the architect's color choice. The unit shall be fully weatherized for outdoor mounting. All gas and electrical controls shall be mounted in fully weatherized control compartments with easy removable doors. All access panels and doors shall have pocket handles for ease of handling. 4. A weatherized fused disconnect switch for (480V -3 Phase) 60 cycle supply voltage. A 115 volt and a 24 volt transformer shall be provided for gas, safety and electrical controls. All remote wiring and controls shall be 24 volt. A motor with adjustable drive shall be included. Motor shall be provided with internal overloads and a motor starter with 3 leg protection. 5. Gas safety controls shall be provided to meet (ANSI), (IRI), (FM) requirements and will include a flame safeguard relay with ultraviolet flame sensing. Automatic and manual high temperature limits are to be provided at the discharge of the unit and a high temperature safety located at the burner. Provide firestats at the supply air. Provide a Freezestat with Time Delay relay at the discharge of the unit. An adjustable outside air cut -off shall be provided to shut -off gas when outside air temperatures exceed 65oF. 6. The unit shall be provided with 100% outside air, constant volume. The velocity of air over the burner must always remain constant and at no time shall recirculated air pass over the burner. High and low velocity safety pressure switches shall be provided to protect against low or high air flow over the burner. b. The temperature controls shall be adjustable discharge air reset from space temperature. The system shall be resetable from a remote temperature selector mounted on the remote control console. 8. The unit shall include burner, blower and damper service switches in the electrical compartment to provide manual operation of the unit.
