Installation of commercial hoods and kitchen ventilation shall comply with U.M.C. Chap. 20, Sec. 2001 thru Sec. 2004 and U.F.C. art. 10, Div. III, Sec. 10.313 (a -f). 2. All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the written approval of the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, Factory Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers, then by the Fire Department. No sprinkler work shall commence without approved drawings. Please address the following comments. 1. Provide architectural drawings of the shaft enclosure or enclosures. 2. Drawings must show the extent of the enclosure from ceiling penetration to the roof penetration and identify all related construction materials. 3. Shaft construction is required to be specifically approved for "shaft" rated materials, not to be confused with wall ratings or others. Examples could be found in the Gypsum Association design manual or equivalent. Please confirm you have received these comments by contacting this office and /or submit revisions within ten working days. Any new ceiling grid and Tight fixture installation is required to meet lateral bracing requirements for Seismic Zone 3. 11. Partition walls attached to ceiling grid must be laterally braced if over eight (8) feet in length. 12. Readily accessible access to roof mounted equipment is required. 13. Engineered truss drawings and calculations shall be on site and available to the building inspector for inspection purposes. Documents shall bear the seal and signature of a Washington State Professional Engineer. 14. Any exposed insulations backing material to have Flame Spread Rating of 25 or less, and material shall bear identification showing the fire performance rating thereof. 15. Subgrade preparation including drainage, excavation, compaction, and fill requirements shall conform strictly with recommendations given in the soils report prior to final inspection (see attached procedure). 16. A statement from the roofing contractor verifying fire retardancy of roof will be required prior to final inspection (see attached procedure). All construction to be done in conformance with approved plans and z\ VK requirements of the Uniform Building Code (1988 Edition), Uniform Mechanical Code (1988 Edition), Washington State Energy Code (1990 Edition), and Washington State Regulations for Barrier Free Facility (1990 Edition). 18. All food preparation establishments must have King County Health Department sign -off prior to opening or doing any food processing.
