must be complete in order to be accepted for plan review.
BUILDING OWNER /AUTHORIZED AGENT If the applicant is other than the owner, registered architect/engineer, or contractor licensed
by the State of Washington, a notarized letter from the property owner authorizing the agent to submit this permit
application and obtain the permit will be required as part of this submittal.
VALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION The valuation is for the work covered by this permit and must be filled in by the applicant. This
figure is used for budget reporting purposes only and not to calculate your fees.
EXPIRATION OF PLAN REVIEW Applications for which no permit is issued within 180 days following the date of application shall
expire by limitation. The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding 180
days upon written request by the applicant as defined in Section 304(d) of the Uniform Mechanical Code (current
edition). No application shall be extended more than once.

Re: Revision Submittal of April 11th, for permit # B94 -0272.

The revision submittal was titled "location change ". The plans appear to propose the installation of a
paint spray booth and the development of a cabinet work shop. In order to complete and approve this
revision, additional information will be necessary. Please provide a written narrative of this proposal with
the following information included:
1. Is the new cabinet workshop to be located in an existing room , or is this area to be demised by
newly constructed walls? If new walls, provide details of construction.
2. How many wood working power -tools are operated in the workshop, and aze dust collecting
equipment attached to each?
3. The cabinet workshop area is demised from the remainder of the warehouse area. How is the
required light and ventilation provided for this area? If new to be installed provide details.
4. The termination of the spray booth exhaust duct is the required 6 -feet above the roof surface. In
addition it is required to be located no less than 10 feet from openings into the building and no less than
30 feet from the nearest property line. Qualify these requirements in a narrative or show on plans. Also
locate the cabinet shop room on a key plan to show location relative to the remainder of the tenant space.
Please submit the information requested and two copies of any plans or details that result. If you have any
questions you may cal: the permit center weekdays between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. An approved automatic fire sprinkler extinguishing
system is required for this project. (City Ordinance
#1646)
All new sprinkler systems and all modifications to
existing sprinkler systems shall have fire department
review and approval of drawings prior to installation
or modification. New sprinkler systems and all
modifications to sprinkler systems involving more than
50 heads shall have the written approval of the
W.S.R.B., Factory Mutual, Industrial Risk Insurers,
Kemper or any other representative designated and /or
recognized by The City of Tukwila, prior t� submittal
to the Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No sprinkler
work shall commence without approved drawings. (City
Ordinance #1646)
All valves controlling the water supply for automatic
sprinkler systems and waterflow switches on all
sprinkler systems shall be electrically supervised.
(UFC 10.508)
2. Exhaust system and spraying operation shall be
interlocked so that spraying cannot be done without the
exhaust system in operation.
3. Provide a minimum 4A 40BC extinguisher within 30' of
your spray booth. (UFC standard 10 -1)

• All bench type paint spray booths adhere to the Uniform Fire Code (1982)
and the National Electric Code (1984).
Always check local fire and electrical codes for special conditions
that may prevail in your area.
• Incandescent light fixtures as listed are 300 watt. The vaportight fixture
adheres to hazardous area class / division 2 from the National Electric
Code. The explosion proof fixture adheres to hazardous area class 1
division 1 from the National Electric Cods. The vaportight fluorescent
fixture is 172 watt, 4' long, 4 tuba adheres to hazardous area class 1
division 2 from the National Electric Code.

• All vaportight light fixtures are placed on the outside of V4" obscure wire
glass, gasketed and locked In place In the working depth of booth.
• Fan motors under 1 h.p. are single phase 115/230 volt, 80 Hz. Light
fixtures are 110 volt. Solenoid valve is single phase, voltage must be
stated (110. 220, etc.).
• Fan outlet top is standard. Back or side outlet can be supplied but
position must be requested
• Panels are skidded and banded for fork lift handling. Fans, motors,
filters, etc.. are packaged but loose. Shipment by public carrier has
special requirements contact factory or dealer.
