Specifications on the Reznor model HCRGB 400. See attach specification sheet with technical data too comply with table 14 -1 of energy codes. (Item 11) 2. Code compliance for heating equipment with capacity over 225,000 BTU /H. We are using the optional features- factory installed (Option #AG2) which is a two stage gas valve in conjunction with a two stage space thermostat. (Item 12) 3. See attached drawing (Item 13). These are replacement units and have been used for re- circulation of the air within the condition space (warehouse). Each unit serves an area of the warehouse and has its own space control (2 - stage thermostat) each unit has its own smoke detector located within the return air duct. 4. The exhaust, fresh air intake and relief openings are all independent of the heating units /system. The heating units are located over their shipping /receiving docks which are mostly opened during hours of operations. 5. We have asked our engineer to go out to this warehouse and gather his own field measurement and resubmit his calculations. See attached calculation. Seattle, WA 98199 Re: Mechanical permit application # M94 -0172. Plan review comments. The initial review of your permit application indicates that additional information will be required. The Washington State Nonresidential Energy Code prescribes that those parts of systems which are altered or replaced shall comply with Chapter 14. The following comments outline the requirements of Chapter 14 that will apply to your mechanical installation. 1. Mechanical equipment shall have a minimum performance, at the specified rating conditions, not less than the values shown in Table 14 -1. Note equipment efficiency rating on plans and provide manufacturers listing of same. 2. Combustion heating equipment with a capacity over 225,000 Btu/h shall have modulating or staged combustion control. Specify this requirement on the plans, and identify this capability in the manufacturers specifications. 3. Each system shall be provided with at least one temperature control device. Each zone shall be controlled by individual thermostatic controls responding to temperature within the zone. At a minimum each floor of a building shall be considered as a separate zone. Indicate on-plans the proposed method of providing for this energy code requirement. 4. Outside air intakes, exhaust outlets and relief outlets serving conditioned spaces shall be equipped with dampers which close automatically when the system is off or upon power failure. Show on plans, by note or detail, how this energy code requirement will be accomplished. 5. The structural calculations that were submitted indicate that the existing structural members are adequate to support the new equipment loads. However, since these calculations were based on an assumed lumber grade ( Doug -Fir Select Structural) this will be verified in the field. If the lumber grade cannot be determined in the field or if the lumber grade is determined to be of another grade of a lesser stress grade then new calculations will be required. Please be John W.
