Job Description Revision
ADJOURNMENT
5:35pm
Jim Haggerton, Mayor
The Civil Service Examiner presented the eligibility list
for the Commission to certify. The list contains 2
names.
Draft copies of the revised document were distributed to
Commissioners prior to the meeting. The Chief explained
that a minor revision was needed to cover the responsibility
to provide clerical assistance to Commanders regarding
Internal Investigations and other confidential matters. He
noted that Commanders have discretion on what clerical
tasks are assigned to the Assistant position. Commissioner
Johnston inquired if it would be appropriate to add more
restrictive language to the job description generally so that
employees would know that if they did not meet certain
training or licensing requirements that they would be
terminated. The Chief noted that this job description
followed the standard format for job descriptions in the
Department and citywide and that the current language has
suited the Department's needs. The Chair authorized the
revised job description as presented.
