COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND PARKS COMMITTEE –
Special Meeting Minutes
May 29 , 2014 – 5:15 p.m. – Mobile Tour, Departure from City Hall Flagpole
PRESENT
Councilmembers: Joe Duffie , Chair; Dennis Robertson (Absent: Verna Seal)
Staff: Jack Pace, Kathy Stetson, Mary Hulvey, Hoa Mai, Laurel Humphrey
Guests: Chuck and Marie Parrish, Residents
The Community Affairs and Parks Committee met in special session on Thursday, May 29, 2014, for
the purpose of taking a mobile tour of multiple properties throughout the City that demonstrate the
work and challenges faced by the Code Enforcement Department .
The tour provided the Committee with the opportunity to view 11 specific properties throughout the
City as well as descriptions of the background, process, and status for each. Committee members
also learned about the new streamlined abatement proces s, the unfit building process, and complaint
responses by department.
Committee members thanked staff for the informative and innovative meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m
