TUKWILA, WASHINGTON 98067 Fire Prevention Bureau February 8, 1974 Re: Mitchell Overseas Movers - Remodel In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note the following items: 1. All doors, including exits shall be identified per OSHA, Section 1910.37 (q). Per•UFC Sec. 10.104 (b), "All doors in or lead - ing to exits shall be maintained openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort at all times when the building or area served thereby is occupied ". 2. Walls to be fire stopped per UBC Sec. 2517(f). The sprinkler system shall be extended to cover all areas, including under stairs. Sprinkler drawings shall be approved by the Washington Survey and Rating Bureau, then by the Tukwila Fire Department. Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10, as a minimum requirement. Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible). If not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" with an arrow pointing. If the color of extinguishers is other than red, they shall be provided with a background Qr mount- ing board, red in color, not less than 2 square feet in size. Occupancy of the second story without the second stairway is in violation of the Tukwila Building Code.
