The 8 foot partition at the rear requires that exit signs be posted on it, since the exit lights on the rear wall will be blocked from view. 2. Extinguishers are required as follows: (a) (6) 2 -A type (pressurized water). (b) (2) 10 B -C dry chemical type. or •(8) 2 -A, 10 B -C "all purpose" dry chemical Types may be substituted for (a) & (b). 3. Per OSHA requirements, extinguishers with a gross weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung so that the top of the extinguisher is not higher than 60 inches above the floor. Extinguishers weighing more than 40 pounds, shall be hung so that the top of the unit is not higher than 42 inches above the floor. Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible). If not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" with an arrow pointing. When extinguishers are hung on posts or columns, the post or column shall be painted bright red for a distance of 12 inches down from the ceiling(or roof). If the color of extinguishers is other than red, they shall be provided with a background or mounting board, red in color, not less than 2 square feet in size.
