Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or leading to exits shall be maintained openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort at all times when the build- -ing or area served thereby is occupied ". (Includes the rear service- door.) 2. Walls to be fire stopped per UBC Sec. 2517(f). 3. All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have the written approval of the Washington Survey & Rating Bureau, then of the Tukwila Fire Dept. No work shall commence without the approved drawings. Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement shall be per NFPA #10. ALL wood is to be treated to be fire - retardant. 6. All gypsum wallboard is to be Type "X ". 7. Storage may not be closer than 1$ inches below sprinkler heads. Please keep in mind when design- ing & installing storage shelves. The rolling - grille as shown is not acceptable. The areas above the suspended ceilings in South - center are not protected by sprinklers. Therefore, the rolling - grille may not penetrate the ceiling unless it is "boxed -in" by one -hour fire- resistive construction to isolate it from the above - ceiling area. The alternative to this requirement is to provide full sprinkler protection above the ceiling. Please include these comments in your review of the above mentioned project plans.
