Manufacturer: Doors shall be sectional upward - acting type as manufactured by Kinnear Division of Harsco Corporation, Columbus, Ohio /Portland, Oregon or equal receiving approval of the architect or owner. B. Operation: Furnished with manual push -up operation on standard basic doors. Hand chain hoist kits can be supplied as an extra. Normal hand chain pull is 35 pounds or Tess. Easily adapt- able to electric motor operation. C. Sections: Sections shall be roll - formed to a 2" thickness from 20- or 24 -gauge galvanized steel with prepainted white baked - on enamel (both sides). 20B &S- gauge aluminum sections are also available for larger openings. The 2" thick steel sections will be furnished in a rib design for added strength. End and inter- mediate stiles are to be 3" wide and fully fitted /boxed for added strength that will extend the full height of the panel. Stiles to have a maximum spacing of 40" on center. Horizontal meeting rails shall be roll- formed with tongue- and-groove joint for a weather tight seal between the sections. Bottom sections will be rein- forced with a 12 -gauge pre - punched angle and have a heavy - duty neoprene weatherstrip at the sill. A minimum of 4 heavy- duty galvanized steel lift handles will be provided with each bot- tom section for ease in opening and closing. Sections will be horizontally reinforced with gal- vanized struts as recommended by manufacturer based on width of sections and windloading. VERTICAL DOOR LIFT HEIGHT +12" D. Maximum Size: 24'2" wide; 16'1" high; opening, 384 square feet. E. Track: Track shall be heavy - gauge galvanized steel, 2" or 3" depending on door size. Vertical track to be a wedge type (tapered) design to seal out weather. Vertical tracks may be bracket mounted (to wood) or continuous angle mounted (to steel) and fully adjustable for sealing door to jamb. Horizontal track shall be reinforced with galvanized steel angle to resist deflection. Tracks will be designed for either stan- dard lift, low headroom, high lift or full vertical lift application. Door Hardware: Graduated type hinges (to match taper of vertical track) of 14 -gauge mini- mum galvanized steel to provide a wedge type closing action. Track rollers shall have a con- tinuous steel rim, 10 hardened ball bearings mounted in case hardened inner and outer races. Bottom corner fixtures (brackets), fabricated from heavy -gauge galvanized steel, are attached to the bottom rail and end stile to form a lifting cradle and also hold cable assembly securely in posi- tion at either side of the door. Doors over 18'2" wide will be furnished with double end hinges and long stem rollers. G. Locks: Side - mounted type for inside operation only is sup- plied with basic door. Key lock (through lock) with inside release mechanism can be supplied at an extra cost. H. Spring Counterbalance: High - quality, oil- tempered, torsion -type counterbalance with die cast winding cones mounted on a continuous cross header shaft assembly. Assembly is then connected to the bottom of door through die cast drums and gal- vanized lift cables of aircraft quality with a calculated factor for high safety. Special high - cycling (longer than standard) life springs are available at an extra cost. Consult dealer for special applications.
