Mayor Bauch stated that public notice had been given for this
Special Meeting and the purpose was to discuss, with the
Architects, City Hall site selection.
Mr. Mithun gave a slide presentation showing aerial views and
diagramatic layouts of the two sites under consideration. The
Southcenter Boulevard Site (2.7 acres) was designated as the
South Site and So. 151st Site (5.3 acres) as the North Site.
Building sizes discussed were 20,000 square foot minimum and
30,000 square foot maximum.
During the detailed discussion the two sites were compared on
many points, some of those being; compatibility with surrounding
zoning, identity, efficiency of site size for proposed use,
adequacy for future expansion, vehicular accessibility, energy
conservation, development costs, ground water problems,
conservation of existing trees and view.
At the end of the discussion period Mr. Mithun stated that their
recommendation is the South Site, partially intuitive and
partially for the reasons that were discussed but which ever
site the Council picks they are going to do their best for
the City.
